ADA Compliant Integrated Units

ADA compliant toilets and bidet combinations have become more and more popular in recent years due to their health benefits. These units offer a seated height of at least 17 inches allowing them to meet the requirements laid out by the Americans with Disabilities Act (see below). Not only do these taller integrated bidet and toilet combinations meet ADA requirements, but they are also easier to sit down on, and stand up from. Those suffering from arthritis will be glad to hear that these units also limit knee fatigue. The benefits of purchasing a bidet and toilet combination that meets ADA standards are numerous.

A common area of confusion when it comes to toilet and bidet combination heights comes from the fact that different brands call ADA compliant integrated toilet and bidet combinations by different names. TOTO refers to these units as universal height integrated bidet and toilets. They also have universal height washlet+ systems, which are integrated bidets and toilets with a more classic look. TOTO refers to these units as universal height because as they see it, these units are universally easy for everyone to use, where as shorter or taller units may be harder for shorter or taller individuals to use.  So, an ADA compliant bidet and toilet combination is universally easy to use, hence the term: Universal height.

Kohler on the other hand refers to these units as Comfort Height. Most people find integrated toilet and bidet units at this height much more comfortable, hence the term: "Comfort Height". Unlike TOTO, Kohler simply makes integrated units.  They do not offer a washlet+ competitor.  If you're looking for an integrated unit that offers a classic toilet look, the Washlet+ systems by TOTO is where you need to be looking.

Regardless of if you're using ADA compliant, Universal Height, or Comfort Height to refer to the integrated bidet and toilet combinations below, it's easy to agree that having a seated height of 17+ inches is a huge relief on the knees.  So what are you waiting for?  Browse our full selection of ADA compliant toilet and bidet combinations now!
