Best Bidet Seats with Sittable Lids

Most bidet seat lids are designed to function only as a cover for the toilet bowl. If you sit on one of these lids you may damage the electronics housed inside the seat’s frame. However, there are a few electric bidet seats whose lids have been specially designed to support the weight of an adult. With one of these seats in your bathroom, you can continue to sit on the lid to dress, clip toenails, or help someone bathe without worrying about damaging the seat.

Cascade 3000

The Cascade 3000 comes with a wide array of luxury features including a sittable lid that can safely support up to 330 lbs. There’s plenty to love about the Cascade in addition to its heavy-duty lid. This high-end, ADA compliant seat has front and rear wash modes with adjustable water pressure and temperature, an oscillating spray option, unlimited warm water, and a powerful warm air dryer. The heated seat with adjustable temperature controls keeps you warm while you use the restroom, and its LED nightlight gently illuminates the bowl (and the area surrounding the toilet) so that it’s easier to navigate the bathroom in low light. The Cascade also comes with a built-in deodorizer that banishes noxious odors as well as an auto-wash feature that initiates a complete wash and dry cycle at the touch of a button. Its interior tubing and nozzles are coated with a silver-nano solution so the water stays crystal clean as it moves through the unit, and its nozzles self-rinse before and after each use. The Cascade’s sleek design makes it compatible with most one and two-piece toilets, including many French Curve toilets. It offers two remote styles, large or small, and two seat sizes, round or elongated. The Cascade’s four-year full warranty is one of the best standard warranties on the market, giving you peace of mind about your investment. If you want a seat that offers a sittable lid along with a supremely comfortable cleansing experience, the Cascade 3000 is for you!

Budget Bidet Seat Alternative to the Cascade 3000:

Galaxy GB-5000

While not as feature heavy as the Casacde 3000, the Galaxy GB-5000 nevertheless offers many of the same comfort and convenience features, including a sittable lid. An important difference is that the GB-5000 has a hybrid water heater, whereas the Cascade has an instant water heater. Hybrid heaters keep a tank of warm water on hand at all times so you have consistent warm water from the get-go, and once the tank runs out, the instant heater begins heating water on demand. One important thing to keep in mind, however, is that the GB-5000’s instant water heater can’t keep up with the seat’s high water flow rate, so the wash water will gradually cool off the longer you run the wash cycle. In a nutshell, the hybrid system provides more warm water than a seat with a solo tank heater, but the warm water is still limited. In contrast, the Cascade 3000’s more powerful instant water heater provides unlimited warm water. While the GB-5000 doesn’t have nozzle oscillation, it does come with pulse washing, which quickly varies the water pressure for a massage sensation that soothes tender areas and relaxes the bowels. Other differences between the two seats include the fact that the GB-5000 has aluminum nozzles (versus stainless steel), only one remote option (large), and no deodorizer. In spite of these differences, it’s a great seat if you’re looking for a seat with a sittable lid but are willing to forego some features in favor of a lower pricetag.

Brondell Swash 1400

The Brondell Swash 1400 is a great option if you want top-of-the-line performance plus a lid you can sit on, all at a mid-range price point! The Swash 1400’s heavy duty lid can support up to 270 lbs, and the seat itself can support up to 330 lbs. It’s got all the standard wash and dry features, including front and rear wash modes, nozzle oscillation, and a warm air dryer. You have the option of turning on the heated seat for extra comfort, and you can adjust the seat temperature, water pressure and temperature, nozzle position, and air dryer temperature according to your personal preferences. The Swash 1400 has an instant water heater that generates unlimited warm water and even comes with an LED nightlight and automatic deodorizer for added convenience. Two user presets allow you to pre-program your favorite settings into the remote for a totally customized one button wash and dry experience, and a silver-nano sterilization system releases tiny particles of silver into the water used to clean the nozzles for top-notch unit hygiene. In addition, the Swash 1400 comes with a 3-year limited warranty that can be upgraded to a 5-year full warranty, so you can rest easy knowing your investment is protected. It is available in two colors, white or biscuit, so it’s easy to match with most bathroom color schemes, and it comes in both round and elongated seat sizes. If you want to maximize economy and function, you’ll definitely want to check out the Brondell Swash 1400.

Budget Bidet Seat Alternative to Swash 1400:

Brondell Swash SE400

If you’re looking to save money while still enjoying a seat with the same feel as the Brondell Swash 1400, we’d recommend checking out its simpler cousin, the Brondell Swash SE400. The SE400 is about as budget friendly as they come, and it offers a range of creature comforts, including a sittable lid that can support up to 270 lbs. Since there are many similarities between the two seats, we’ll start with the differences. First and foremost, the Swash SE400 has a tank water heater versus the Swash 1400’s instant water heater. Tank heaters do a great job generating consistent warm water without the quick burst of cool water that instant systems often produce at the start of the wash cycle. The downside, however, is that tank heaters only only produce between 30 and 60 seconds of warm water at a time. If you run the wash cycle longer, the unit will switch to using cool water until it can refill the tank and heat the water, a process that takes 3-5 minutes. A second notable difference is that the Swash DS725 is controlled via a control panel attached to the side of the seat instead of a wireless remote. We typically don’t recommend side arm control panels if you’re a heavier individual, have difficulty looking down, or plan to use your feet to control the seat’s options, but beyond these considerations, the control method is mostly a matter of personal preference. Additionally, unlike the Swash 1400, the Swash DS725 doesn’t offer a deodorizer, wide spray, nozzle sterilization (though it does rinse the nozzles before and after each use), user presets, or a beige option. While these may sound like a lot of differences, there are actually many areas in which the two seats are similar, including front and rear cleansing, nozzle oscillation (plus the DS725 even comes with a pulse wash option), one button wash/dry, an LED nightlight, and stainless steel nozzles.

Bio Bidet dib-850 Special Edition

Bio Bidet’s dib-850 bidet seat is a bit less expensive than the Cascade 3000 but still offers many of the same great features, including a lid that you can safely sit on. Stand-out features include nozzles that are easy to replace at home, a 400 lb weight limit, an enema wash mode, user presets, and a wide spray option for enhanced cleansing coverage. You also get standard front and rear wash modes along with pulsating and oscillating spray options, plus unlimited warm water, a warm air dryer, and a one-button wash and dry option. As with most other electric seats, the dib-850’s water temperature and pressure, nozzle position, seat temperature and warm air dryer temperature are all adjustable. A heated seat, built-in deodorizer, and LED nightlight round out the seat’s top-notch features. The dib-850 is available in both round and elongated seat sizes, so it will fit on most one or two-piece toilets, and it’s controlled via an intuitive remote control. It also comes with get a generous 3-year full warranty that can be upgraded to 6 years if you want extra protection. This wide array of fantastic features makes the Bio Bidet dib-850 a great bidet seat for anyone wanting a sittable lid and luxury cleansing without the luxury pricetag.

Brondell Swash DS725

With the Brondell Swash DS725, you don’t have to choose between a competitive price or a sittable lid, because this seat has both! While we love the Swash DS725’s contemporary design aesthetic and broad range of features, an important factor to keep in mind is that the seat’s lid has a maximum weight capacity of 178 lbs, so it’s not as heavy duty as the other seats on this list. If the lid’s weight limit isn’t a concern for you, then there’s plenty about this seat to love. The remote controlled Swash DS725 has front and rear wash modes with durable stainless steel nozzles, pulsating and oscillating spray options, as well as a heated seat, warm air dryer, deodorizer, and LED nightlight. It also features a one-button wash and dry feature that uses the seat’s last used settings to get you clean and on your way. One notable difference between the Swash DS725 and the Bio Bidet dib-850 is the method they use to heat the wash water. While the dib-850 has an instant water heater that generates unlimited warm water, the Swash DS725 has a tank heating system that produces 30-60 seconds of warm water. This is enough for a typical wash cycle, but if you need to run the wash beyond that, the seat will slowly switch over to using cool water until the tank can refill and reheat. The good news about tank water heaters is that the warm water they provide is very consistent in temperature and you don’t get the cold burst at the beginning of the wash like you often do with instant heaters. If you’re looking for a seat with everything you need for a wonderfully comfortable cleanse but without a luxury price tag, the Swash DS725 may be for you!
