What are the differences between the Bliss BB-2000 Bidet Seat and the Swash 1000 Bidet Seat?

- Water flow and pressure

When it comes to water flow, the BB-2000 is hard to beat.  This seat offers water flow of 0.18 gallons per minute (GPM), whereas, the Swash 1000 only comes in at 0.13 GPM.  While this is a pretty big difference between the two, the swash 1000 bidet seat is more aligned with the industry standard.  The water flow rate does vary from seat to seat, but on average, we see seats commonly coming in between .15 GPM and .11 GPM.  The Bio Bidet BB-2000 higher flow rate coupled with it's better water pressure does tend to yield a better cleaning experience.  However, if preserving water is important, the Swash 1000 still gets the job done very nicely.

Winner for best water flow and pressure: Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000

- Nozzles

Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000 Nozzle

Brondell Swash 1000 Nozzle

1. Nozzle Design

The Swash 1000 by Brondell follows the industry standard for bidet seat nozzles, and offers a two nozzle setup.  These nozzles are made from stainless steel and very high quality.  The Brondell nozzle on the left in the picture above is used for the front, or feminine wash, while the nozzle on the right is used for the rear, or posterior wash.  The Bio Bidet BB-2000 on the other hand offers a single nozzle, with three different nozzle tips built into it.  This innovative design allows the nozzle to be perfectly centered at all times, while still offering all the functionality that is provided by the two nozzle setup.  The Bliss BB-2000 also has a stainless steel nozzle, but unlike the Swash 1000 nozzles, which are 100% stainless steel, the tip of the BB-2000's nozzle is a hard plastic.  This tip is designed to be easy to remove with a quick twist and replaced if needed.  This is great when build up happens in the nozzle tip over the years, instead of having to send the seat in for repair, simply take the old nozzle tip off, and put a new one on the seat.

Winner for best nozzle design: Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000

2. Nozzle Propulsion

Both seats take a very different approach to the method used to extend the nozzles and retract them.  The Bio Bidet BB-2000 uses a belt with a small motor to run the belt.  This means pinpoint precision when positioning the nozzles, but also means that it's a bit louder while the nozzles are moving.  The Swash 1000 on the other hand simply uses the water pressure to propel the nozzles.  This means less noise but slightly less precision than you'd see with the belt driven nozzle.

Winner for best nozzle propulsion design: Tie between Swash 1000 and BB-2000

3. Nozzle Sterilization

With built in nozzle sterilization, the Swash 1000 wins on this one.  The BB-2000 does not offer nozzle sterilization built in, but does offer a in-line filter that can be added to provide nozzle sterilization.

Winner for nozzle sterilization: Brondell Swash 1000

4. Nozzle longevity

Both the BB-2000 and Swash 1000 have a long lasting design.  If you have hard water, the BB-2000 will probably last longer, as the tip can be replaced with ease.  Overall, this is a toss up.

-Water Heating for warm water washes

Regardless of which of these seats you choose, you'll be happy to hear that both offer unlimited warm water without the need to connect to a hot water pipe in your home.  The Brondell Swash 1000 offers a instant water heater, which heats the water as it's needed.  Historically, these water heaters tend to have some slight variances in temperature, but due to the advanced ceramic heater used by the Swash 1000, these variances are very minimal.  The Bio Bidet BB-2000 uses a hybrid water heater, which allows the water to be heated in real time while maintaining complete consistency.  It does this by using a very small water tank built into the seat, that is filled in real time from an instant water heater.  While the Swash 1000 doesn't offer much temperature variance, the lack of any temperature variance with the BB-2000 earns it the win in this category.

Winner for best water heater: Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000

- Washes Available

The wash options available on the Bio Bidet BB-2000 and the Brondell Swash 1000 are both very similar to one another.  We'll talk about some of these similarities below.  However, there are a few wash settings that the BB-2000 offers, which the Swash does not.  These include the Pulse and Enema washes.  The enema wash utilizes the third nozzle hole in the nozzle tip, and delivers a strong spinning stream that's designed to work as an enema.  This spinning function allows the wash to offer more power making it more effective and is achieved using Bio Bidet's patented vortex design.  The pulse mode causes the wash to switch between strong and weak sprays in a "pulse" like function.  This is great for situations where the area is tender and needs a bit more tender loving care.  Due to both of these features being offered on the BB-2000 but not on the Swash 1000, the BB-2000 is the clear winner in this comparison.

Winner for best wash options: Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000

-Wireless Remotes

Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000 Remote

Brondell Swash 1000 Remote

1.Ease of Use/ simplicity

Both the Bio Bidet BB2000 and the Brondell Swash 1000 offer great remotes.  The BB-2000 offers raised buttons on it's remote which is great for those with poor eye sight, and/or poor dexterity.  However, because the BB-2000 offers a screen, and a few more washes than the Swash 1000, it's buttons are a bit smaller, and closer together.  The Swash 1000 on the other hand, while not having raised buttons, offers large buttons that are less cluttered.  The simplicity award goes to the Swash 1000, hands down.

Winner for Ease of Use: Brondell Swash 1000

2.Mounting System

Both the BB2000 and the Swash 1000 have remotes that can be held in hand, and both have mounts that can be attached to the wall.  Both mounting systems can be attached with either screws, or an adhesive, allowing for a plethora of mounting possibilities.  Once the mount is attached to the desired surface, the remote can be mounted there or held in hand depending on the operators desire.  The Brondell Swash 1000 uses a magnet to hold the remote in place.  Simply place the remote on the mount, and the magnet insures that it doesn't move.  There is also a slight ridge on the mount for the Swash 1000 remote, which helps the operator make sure the remote is placed exactly where it needs to be.  The BB-2000 mount on the other hand requires the remote to be slid in and out of the mount.  This means that the remote is more firmly connected to the mounting surface, but also means that there is a bit more to removing the remote from the wall then simply grabbing it.  This one is a complete toss up...  It really depends on what you prefer.

Winner for Remote Mounting System: Tie Between the Brondell Swash 1000 and the Bio Bidet BB-2000

3.Display

Out of the two of these remotes, the Bio Bidet BB-2000 is the only one with a true "display".  This remote shows you everything you could possibly want to know about the wash you're experiencing.  The Swash 1000 on the other hand sticks with it's design for simplicity, and offers a array of LED lights.  As an example, if you turned the water temperature from medium to high, the water temperature LED on the Swash 1000 remote would change from orange to red.  Which is better?  We'll let you decide, as this is really a matter of preference.

Winner for best display: Tie Between the Brondell Swash 1000 and the Bio Bidet BB-2000

-Warm Air Dryer

Both the BB-2000 and the Swash 1000 offer warm air dryers, but we have found that the Brondell Swash 1000 warm air dryer is slightly stronger.  Both warm air dryers do allow you to adjust the temperature of the dry, and as expected, the warmer dryer settings do dry quicker.  Overall due to the Swash 1000 having a slightly stronger blower, it wins out in this category.

Winner for Warm Air Dryer: Brondell Swash 1000

-Seat

1. Comfort of seat

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 seat and the Brondell Swash 1000 have the same level of comfort from our experience.

Winner for seat comfort: Tie Between the Bio Bidet Bliss BB200 and the Brondell Swash 1000

2. Hole size

Hole size is a fairly common question we get, as bidet seat holes tend to be slightly smaller than the traditional toilet seat.  The BB-2000 and the Swash 1000 are no different in this respect.  We plan on uploading a grid to give you exact details on the hole size, so stay tuned!

Winner for hole size: Tie Between the Brondell Swash 1000 and the Bio Bidet BB-2000

3. Sit-able lid

Those who have never used a bidet seat before might think that this is no brainer...  All bidet seats have a lid that you can sit on, right?  You'd be surprised to find that most bidet seats do not have sit-able lids.  The reason for this is due to their complex design, sensors, heating elements ect built into the seat itself require additional space, and as such they are shaped slightly differently, making it tricky to allow a sit-able lid.  This being said, the Brondell Swash 1000 does offer a sit-able lid that supports 200 pounds, while the BB-2000 does not.  If a sit-able lid is important to you, the Swash 1000 is well worth considering.

Winner for sit-able lid: Brondell Swash 1000

4. Seat size/ toilet compatibility

Both the Bio Bidet BB2000 and the Swash 1000 offer very similar seat sizes.  This translates to a very similar feel when seated on the units.  The Swash 1000 is slightly shorter in the back, coming in at 5.66 inches v.s. the BB-2000's 5.98 inches.  However, this small of a difference does not really give it much of a edge as far as sleekness over the BB-2000 is concerned.  The Brondell Swash 1000 does offer a more contorted slimmer back side.  This gives it the ability to fit better on some small toilets that the BB-2000 might be a bit tight on.  While there's no huge differences between the seats in this category, the Swash 1000 does pull ahead for the win.

Winner for seat size and toilet compatibility: Brondell Swash 1000

-Quality

1. Weight limit

Industry standard for bidet seats sits at 300 pounds.  The Swash 1000 support up to 330 pounds, while the BB-2000 supports 400 pounds.  This coupled with the higher flow rate, makes it a great choice for those over 250 pounds.

Winner for weight limit: Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000

2. Warranty

Warranties for bidet seats vary from 1 year to 3 years, and some have the option for upgraded warranties.  The Swash 1000 offers a 3 year warranty, but it's only a limited warranty, which covers 100% in the first year, 75% in the second year, and only 50% for the third.  For extended warranties, Brondell offers a 5 year full warranty for 100 dollars, but does not allow you to purchase the extended warranty at time of purchase.  It needs to be purchased after the fact (contact us for details).  The Bio Bidet BB-2000 on the other hand offers a 3 year full warranty, covering 100% parts and labor for the full first 3 years.  Similar Brondell, the Bio Bidet unit offers an extended warranty. This warranty can be purchased at time of purchasing the seat, and extends the full warranty to 6 years.

Winner for warranty: Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000

-Options/Variations

Both the Bio Bidet BB-2000 bidet seat, and the Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Seat offer white and off white colors.  Brondell calls their off white Biscuit, while Bio Bidet refers to theirs as Beige.  Aside from seat colors, The Bio Bidet BB-2000 also offers multiple colors for the remote.  White and Black for the white seat, and beige of course for the beige seat.  Brondell however only offers colors that match the seat.  There is no black remote option.  However, the Brondell Swash 1000 does offer round for both the white and biscuit options, while the BB-2000 does not offer round for either.  This makes Brondell the clear winner in this category.

Winner for Options and Variations: Brondell Swash 1000

-Pricing

At face value Brondell offers better pricing, with the white Swash 1000 coming in at 599, while the Bio Bidet's BB-2000 comes in at 699 for the white.  However, we can offer discounted pricing on both.  If you're looking for a beige or biscuit version, both are very similarly priced, but again, we can offer discounts on both.  Since Brondell offers the white at a lower price face value, we're giving this category to Brondell.

Winner for lowest price point: Brondell Swash 1000

-Additional considerations:

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 does have a few additional features that have not been brought up above.  These are features it offers, that the Swash 1000 does not.  First, is the one button wash and dry.  This is referred to as the "auto" wash, and allows you to press one button and have it cycle through the cleaning and then the drying functions without you having to do anything else.  Those looking for a one button press option will love this feature! Another slightly less important feature is the night light.  The BB-2000 does have a built in night light which may not be huge, but it in nice to have.

Winner of additional considerations: Bio Bidet BB-2000

How are the Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Seat and the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 Bidet Seat the same?

Up until this point, we have talked about how these two bidet seats differ from one another, but it turns out they have a lot in common too.  Both of these seats are world class luxury seats fit to grace your bathroom's throne.  These features include a feature that flushes the nozzles, and runs water over them, before and after each use.  This in known as self cleaning.  Both models offer this function, and on both, it runs automatically.  Both the BB-2000 and Swash 1000 also allow you to adjust the position of the nozzle to fit your needs, and offer both front and rear wash options.  However the Bliss BB-2000 offers the enema wash in addition to these two standard washes.  As talked about earlier, both also offer adjustable water temperature and adjustable water pressure.  In addition to this, you'll see both wide spray and nozzle oscillation on the Bio Bidet BB-2000 as well as the Swash 1000.

Aside from the wash, both also offer a powerful deodorizer, which absorbs the odor instead of masking it, and a heated seat with adjustable temperature settings.  Both also come with a built in seat sensor which keeps the seat from operating unless occupied.  Both the seat and lid on both the BB-2000 and the Swash 1000 are slow close, and both have an energy saving mode should you desire to enable it.  Last but not least, both use a catch plate installation design making the installation of the seat a breeze.

Brondell Swash 1000 VS Bio Bidet Bliss BB2000 Compared - Final Thoughts.

Overall, we give the win to the Bio Bidet BB-2000 on this one, but depending on what you're looking for in a seat, the Brondell Swash 1000 may very well take the win.

Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 Bidet Seat summary:

The BB-2000 bidet seat is hard to beat.  We've given the overall win to this seat for a host of reasons.  The enhanced water flow and water pressure was a huge consideration.  Many seats on the market offer low water flow in an effort to conserve water, but when it comes to getting your bottom clean, do you really want to skimp?  We've found that higher water flow does tend to lead to a better clean, making it hard to deny Bio Bidet the win on this comparison.  Other reasons for the BB-2000's win include the hybrid water heater, the enema wash, the great warranty and more.

Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Seat summary:

While we're giving the overall win to the BB-2000 on this one, there are many reasons to consider the Swash 1000 over the BB-2000.  Some of the items to consider would be the sit-able lid, and the fact that it comes with an option for round toilets!  The extra powerful air dryer and built in nozzle sterilization is great as well.

Overall winner: THE BIO BIDET BLISS BB-2000 BIDET SEAT
