5 Reasons NOT to buy the Bio Bidet BB-2000 Transcript:

My name is Daniel Johnson and I’m your bidet expert and the owner of manybidets.com, where we’ve sold over 10,000 bidet seats, in the past eight years.

Today we’re going to talk about reasons why you might not pick the BB-2000, for your bidet seat of choice. It is our top seller, but there are some things that it misses and today we’re going to talk about those.

The number one reason why the BB-2000 Bliss might not be the perfect seat for you is the fact that it doesn’t have a sittable lid. This is a topic that a lot of customers overlook, until after they’ve purchased, so we like to bring it up ahead of time. With a standard toilet seat, you’re used to sitting on the lid. The fact that a bidet seat might not have a lid that can be sat on, doesn’t generally come up, but a lot of bidet seats don’t. The reason is that there’s hardware stored in the back of the seat that makes the seat work. That causes there to have to be a slope to that lid and the way that that lid comes off of the slope, can affect whether or not the lid can be sat on. I often get a question when I bring up sittable lids that go something like “But, how can I use the bidet seat, if I can’t sit on it?”. I want to be clear, we are saying that the lid portion cannot be sat on. You have the seat portion, your bidet seat, your toilet seat, which you sit on when you’re having a bowel movement, but if you put the lid down as well, the portion that goes down over the seat, that’s what we’re talking about. The BB-2000, while a fantastic seat, does not have a lid that can be sat on. If you’re looking for a seat that does have a high quality lid that can be sat on, I would recommend checking out the Cascade 3000, we’ll have a link to that in the video description.

The second reason why the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 might not be the perfect seat for you, is its belt driven nozzle. This design is unique to the BB-2000 and Bio Bidet shares it as a feature and as a plus on their website. However, being in the market for eight years, I found that this is one of the features that can sometimes go wrong and so I’m listing it as the second reason why you might not want to pick the BB-2000. The belt that moves the nozzle, can come off of the gear that it’s connecting with, to move that nozzle in and out. If you run into this issue, you’re going to hear a grinding noise and that nozzle is either not going to come out at all, or it’s not going to come out as far as it should. This is specifically an issue, because of the fact that the nozzle is belt driven. Most other seats on the market use air pressure, to determine how far out the nozzle comes and in a scenario like that, there’s no issue with the belt slipping off of the nozzle and causing that grinding sound. Now, the fix to this is easy. You simply get off of the seat and you give that nozzle a pull, you’ll feel the belt slide back into position and you’re good to go. Not a big deal, but once the belt slips once, it’s more likely to slip down the road and over time that can get very annoying. That’s our second reason why the Bio Bidet BB-2000, while a fantastic seat, might not be the perfect fit for you.

Number three, why the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 might not be the perfect seat for you, is the fact that it doesn’t offer nozzle sterilization. Now, it does have a stainless steel nozzle, which helps to resist bacteria buildup, but it also has a plastic nozzle tip. So, because the tip is plastic and the tip is going to be “closest to the action”, that section is not benefiting from the stainless steel properties that resist bacteria buildup. For this reason, I wish that it had a sterilization functionality, but it doesn’t.

The fourth reason why the BB-2000 might not be the perfect seat for you, is its power. Now, if you watched our “Top five reasons to buy the BB-2000”, you might be scratching your head a little bit and saying “That was like your number one reason to buy it, why are you now telling me that this is a reason not to buy”. Power can be a pro, or con, depending on the individual. While a lot of people really appreciate the power that the BB-2000 offers and it is one of the main reasons why the BB-2000 is such a hot seller, the nozzle pressure range is not great. While it’s got a very high top nozzle pressure, wash pressure, the lowest settings for that water stream are still pretty powerful. If you’re dealing with a scenario where you have hemorrhoids, or maybe you just recently had a baby, in those scenarios you might end up running into an issue, where the power from the BB-2000 is a little bit painful. In a scenario like that, we recommend a seat that’s got a better nozzle pressure range. Most of those are going to not reach Bio Bidet’s top end, but they’re going to have a wider range of water pressures, i.e a lower water pressure setting than what the BB-2000 would offer. A couple of examples that come to mind are, the Cascade 3000, or one of the higher end Toto seats, like the s550, or s500.

The fifth reason why the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 might not be the perfect seat for you is, user presets. We see a lot of customers asking about user presets and while we tend to find that customers who are super set on user presets, use them less than they originally thought they would, it’s still a very sought after feature. While the BB-2000 is a great seat, it does miss this key feature of user presets and that’s the fifth reason why the BB-2000 might not be the right seat for you.

We have one more bonus item for you and this wouldn’t necessarily have made it into the top five, or even the video at all, except for the fact that it’s a question that we get all the time, about the BB-2000 and that is that the remote is not backlit. Often, when customers come to buy the BB-2000, they see that the remote has a screen and because it has a screen they automatically assume that that remote is backlit. Unfortunately, it’s not. Now, some people find this is a big deal, you’re using it at night, you can’t see the options that you’re selecting. Other people, not so much, because you can feel what the water pressure is, you can feel what the water temperature is, the buttons are raised, so once you’ve kind of gotten a feel for where the buttons are, from a month or so of use, you can kind of navigate the whole remote via feel. If you’re looking to see that remote screen in the dark, at night, you’re going to be disappointed.
