Cascade 3000 Bidet Seat Review | Top 2 Bidet Seats 2022 Transcript:
The Cascade 3000 made second place in our Top Five video in 2022, but we didn’t have a lot of time to cover the details as to why. In this video, you’re going to learn everything there is to learn about the Cascade 3000, so stay tuned to get those details. My name is Daniel Johnson, I’m your bidet expert and the owner of ManyBidets.com and we’re going to dig into the Cascade 3000 now.
Now, before we dive in, it is important to note that we designed the Cascade 3000. We consistently had customers reaching out looking for things in a Bidet seat that we were not able to provide, because nothing existed. We designed the Cascade 3000 to meet those needs. Despite having designed this unit, we do try to be as unbiased as possible, so we will be sharing both the positives and the negatives of the Cascade 3000, because no seat is perfect.
No high-end Bidet seat would be complete without unlimited warm water. The Cascade 3000 offers unlimited warm water by using an instant water heater that’s built into the seat itself. It also includes multiple different temperature settings. An off setting if you want room temperature water, a low, a medium and a high setting. You also have the ability to run either a front, or a rear wash, using a single nozzle, so the nozzle is centered for any of those different wash solutions. You’re also going to be able to adjust the pressure of that wash. If you’re looking for something harder, or softer, you can adjust that up to three different pressure settings and the range of those pressure settings is one of the best ranges in the market. If you need something soft and gentle, especially after giving childbirth, or if you have hemorrhoids, the Cascade is a great option. If you want something a little bit more intense to clean up those extra messy bowel movements, the Cascade 3000 can handle that, as well. The Cascade 3000 also comes with an oscillation feature. If you want to get more range with your wash you can cause the nozzle to oscillate back and forth, by giving a second press of the wash button be it the rear wash or the front wash to give that additional coverage, by an oscillating nozzle moving back and forth. There’s also an auto wash button, which automatically oscillates the nozzle and runs a wash for 60 seconds and then follows that with a three minute dry. The Cascade 3000 also comes with a stainless steel nozzle, which means that it’s going to be as hygienic as possible, because that stainless steel material doesn’t hold bacteria buildup as much as other materials would. It also offers a two-in-one design, so the single centered nozzle offers both your front and your rear wash settings, with different spouts built into the same tip. There are some Bidet seats out there that advertise an easy to remove tip, specifically for cleaning. A lot of these have stainless steel nozzles, but then the tip is plastic. The Cascade 3000 has a fully stainless steel nozzle, but the tip is still pretty easy to remove, just with a slight pull at the very end of the tip to slide it out, clean it and re-insert it, but you still get a fully stainless steel exterior with the Cascade 3000. One of the most common complaints we get when it comes to Bidet seats, in general, is that their reach is somewhat lacking. The back of the Bidet seat is high, causing people to sit further forward and as a result the nozzle has to be able to reach further forward. The Cascade 3000 offers five different nozzle positions and has one of the furthest reaches of any of the seats that we currently sell. The Cascade 3000 also comes with a warm air dryer. This dryer has four different settings: off, low, medium and high. Those settings are specifically talking about the temperature of the air, not the pressure of the air. This dryer is off to the side a little bit, because the center is where the nozzle is housed, but it’s still directed towards the center to make sure that you can get good and dry. The dryer also has a door that comes down to protect it when it’s not in use. When it comes to a tool that washes your butt, being clean is a key crucial piece. We’ve talked about the fact that this seat comes with stainless steel, but along with that it also offers Silver Nano sterilization. Two different ways that it helps to reduce bacteria build up. Silver Nano refers to all of the internals that the water passes through, having trace amounts of silver in it, so that the water stays as sterile as possible as it’s passing through the unit and making the wash happen. Some other high-end seats in the market offer other methods of sterilization, as well. Such as E-water, where they supply a small electric charge to the water to sterilize it. Then, there’s also UV sterilization, where a UV light sterilizes the nozzle when it pulls back into the back of the unit. There are a variety of different ways that sterilization can take place. The Cascade 3000 uses Silver Nano. While a standard toilet seat will allow you to sit on the lid portion when it’s down, nearly no Bidet seat offers this functionality, because of how the seat lid has to slope off the back where the internals are stored. The Cascade 3000 is one of the few exceptions to this. With a sittable lid that supports 330 pounds. Along with this, the lid and all of the other plastic components on the Cascade 3000 are made out of high quality Polypropylene plastic, versus a lot of other seats on the market that are made out of lower quality ABS plastic, in order to reduce costs. Both the seat and the lid also offer slow closing, so if you’re looking for a unit where the lid and the seat won’t slam, the Cascade 3000 offers that. The heated seat on the Cascade 3000 comes with four different settings: an off, low, medium and high temperature setting. This is one of those features that a lot of customers tell me up front, “I’m looking to save money, I don’t need the heated seat” and it’s the most common feature. We have people come back after the fact and say, “That’s one of the big things I miss when I’m not home”. The heated seat giving you four different settings is another nice little touch on the Cascade 3000. Because the Cascade 3000 is made out of higher quality Polypropylene plastic, it has more flex and give than a lot of other seats on the market today. Because of this, it is going to be a little bit more comfortable. but not only that, because it slopes off of the back of the unit so steeply, it gives you more sittable space up front, at a flatter level, allowing you to have more space to work with when you’re seated on the unit. Now, that being said, regardless of the Bidet seat that you purchase, the size of the individual using it is going to play a role. Larger individuals are going to notice a reduction in sittable space, a little bit more than smaller individuals.. While the Cascade 3000 offers more sittable space than most Bidet seats and a more comfortable seat than most Bidet seats, a larger individual is still going to feel like less space is given than a standard toilet seat. In a situation like this, an integrated unit is a great option because these units don’t have a tank on the toilet, allowing the hardware, that makes the unit work, to sit in that location and opening you up to a sittable space that often is much larger than the standard toilet seat. Just a note, we sell Integrated units, so if you want the Cascade, great, we can hook you up! If you want more sittable space, talk to us about what Integrated unit is right for you and then let us give you a great deal, so that you don’t overpay. The Cascade 3000 is one of the only seats on the market that gives you the option to choose between multiple different styles of remote. You have the slim remote, you also have the large remote. Both of these remotes have three transmitters for the infrared signal; one, two, three and one, two, three. If you’re in a small bathroom, or a bathroom with dark walls, a standard Bidet seat may not have the signal reached from the remote to the seat, but with three transmissions all going in different directions the remote signal from the Cascade’s remote is much more likely to meet the intended target. Not only that, but the Cascade 3000 has two receivers. The combination of the two receivers, along with the three transmissions makes it very very hard to find a scenario where the signal does not make it to the seat. The Cascade 3000’s large remote, which is by far our most popular remote, is one of the easiest options on the market, as well. It’s got large colored buttons that are easy to use. It can be operated with a foot, can be operated in dim lighting, with limited visibility. It makes for a great Bidet seat remote. There are also LED lights on the remote that allow you to see what selections you’ve chosen, so that you know what you’re working with when you’re running that wash. The slim remote, on the other hand, still has a well laid out design, but instead of having LED lights it has a screen that shares with you all of the wash settings that you’ve selected, so that you know what you’re dealing with when you’re running that wash. There are also some options on the seat itself. You have the night light option, the eco option and the wash stop option. The night light option, this is the way that you can determine whether, or not the night light on the seat is on. Now, if you turn it on and you don’t see the night light come on it’s probably because the room is not dark enough, it does have a sensor for that. The eco mode allows you to determine when the seat heats the the sittable space and you can adjust that, or because it uses hardly any electricity you can leave it on all the time. The last option here, your wash and stop options. These can be used in a scenario where your batteries and your remote die, you lose your remote and you need to operate the seat. Anyhow, this button is hardly ever used, because the batteries in the remote are going to last you for a few years, at least. Chances are between that and being able to mount your remote on the wall, you’re not going to lose the remote, or need to replace batteries very frequently. If you’re looking to do some more advanced functions, like turning the seat sensor off so that no one has to be seated on the unit to run the wash, or you’re looking to extend the nozzle, so that you can do a manual clean of the nozzle, or remove the nozzle tip, the buttons on the seat itself also allow you to do those functions by using a combination of buttons through a certain process. The nightlight for the Cascade 3000 is a blue light that lights up the bowl of the toilet, so at night you’ll see a blue hue coming from between the seat and the toilet bowl, if you have the night light on and when you lift the lid the inside of the toilet bowl will be lit up. The Cascade 3000 works with a wide array of toilets, even a lot of toilets that other Bidet seats won’t work with. Specifically, French curved toilets, where the curve comes off of the back of the toilet tank. We have a video talking about French curve toilets, check the video description. Needless to say, the Cascade 3000 fits most of those while other Bidet seats don’t. The Cascade 3000 comes in both round and elongated form factors and offers a white finish. If you’re looking for a beige, or biscuit finish your best option is probably the Toto S550e, or the Toto S500. We sell both of those, as well and we’ll give you a great price. Also important to note, if you’re dealing with a scenario where you have a skirted toilet and you don’t have access to the water line where it connects to the bottom of the toilet tank, or have access to the bottom sides of the bolts that hold the toilet seat on, you will need an alternate T-connector, which we sell, to make the Cascade 3000 work. You won’t need any special bolts, because the Cascade 3000 is designed to work with the existing hardware of the toilet, to make that feasible without needing any additional hardware.
At this point, you’re probably thinking, “I thought you told me you were going to tell me the pros and the cons. I’ve only heard positives”. Well, the majority of what the Cascade has to offer is positive. We’ve been sharing a lot about what it does offer, but there are a few things that it misses. As stated a moment ago, it does not offer a beige or biscuit color. It also doesn’t offer an enema wash. If you’re looking for an enema wash to help with constipation the Cascade 3000 may not be the best pick. You might want to go with a BB-2000, or BB-1000 by Bio Bidet. We sell both of those as well. It also doesn’t offer pre-misting where it mists the bowl down before and after each use. If you want that, a high end Toto like a s500e, or an S550e would be a great option. It doesn’t offer auto opening, so if you want a unit that greets you when you walk in the door and says “Hello, please poop in me!”, the Cascade 3000 isn’t a great option. The other thing that the Cascade 3000 misses that is offered in some other Bidet seats is the user presets. If you’re looking for user presets, the S550e, or the S500e are great options. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option that offers user presets, check out the Swash 1400.
