Comparatively, The S550e does offer nozzle sterilization with EWATER+ for protection against germ build up, and the plastic is a advanced resin that offers very similar bacteria resistant properties to stainless steel. Nozzles on both seat models utilize great features like self cleaning, adjustability and oscillation.

Although the Bio Bidet A8 offers nearly double the water flow as the TOTO S550e, the nozzle spout is a bit wider so it does not result in twice the water pressure.
Through aeration, the A8 also offers the ability to control the power of its wash without changing the water flow. Aeration, which is the infusion of bubbles into the water, can be turned on for a more powerful stream and turned off for a softer, gentler wash.
For those with children who may also benefit from using the bidet seat, the A8 offers a child mode function which provides a gentle wash specifically designed for youngsters. The S550e does not offer a child mode function.
