Please Note: The INAX Luscence has been discontinued. However, due to its past popularity, we offer this comparison between the Luscence and the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 detailing the differences and similarities between these two units.
Look & Feel
The INAX Luscence and the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 both feature an elegant silhouette with a slightly beveled lid, though the Cascade 3000 is a bit lower profile than the Luscence. Both are available in white and elongated seat sizes, but the Cascade 3000 only comes in white while the Luscence is available in both white and beige. Another notable feature is that both seats can fit on many French Curve toilets, which often can’t accommodate bidet seats due to their unique contours.
Wash & Dry Features
Water Flow Rate
Water flow rate may seem like a mundane detail, but it’s actually a relevant feature to consider since the amount of wash water used per minute directly relates to the effectiveness and efficiency of the wash. While the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 features a generous 0.18 gallon per minute flow rate, the INAX Luscence’s flow rate is even more powerful at .26 gallons per minute. If water conservation is high on your list of priorities, the Luscence’s higher water flow rate may not be a plus, but the upside is that it will get you clean and on your way a bit faster than the Cascade 3000.
The nozzles on both the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 and the INAX Luscence automatically rinse themselves with water after each use, but only the Cascade 3000 offers nozzle sterilization technology that takes unit hygiene a step further. The interior of the Cascade 3000’s nozzles and plastic tubing is coated in a silver nano-particle solution that harnesses silver’s natural antibacterial properties to eliminate contaminants that might find their way into the unit. The wash water is then run through these sterile components, keeping it clean and pure from start to finish.
Water heating is one area in which the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 and the INAX Luscence differ significantly. The INAX Luscence has a tank water heating system that keeps a limited amount of warm water on hand at all times. The benefit to this is that the wash water temperature is very consistent from start to finish, so long as water remains in the tank. If the warm water in the tank runs out, as can happen if the seat is used several times in quick succession or during a long wash cycle, the seat switches to using room temperature water until the tank can refill and reheat. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 has an instant water heater that generates unlimited warm water, so you’ll never run out no matter how long or how often you use the unit. The downside to this method is that there can be a short burst of cool water at the very beginning of the wash, and the water temperature can vary by a degree or two while the seat is in use, but the latter may not even be noticeable depending on the user.
Comfort & Convenience Features
Knowing that you can easily and conveniently control your unit is key, and the Dignity Solutions aims to make the Cascade 3000 accessible to everyone by offering two different remote sizes/styles. The larger size remote offers raised buttons with an intuitive, easy-to-operate layout, while the smaller (standard size) remote features flat buttons and a display screen. The INAX Luscence doesn’t offer a choice of remote styles, and its remote offers raised buttons and a small screen that displays the water temperature and seat temperature settings currently in use.
Weight limit is where the INAX Luscence leaves its competition in the dust. Thanks to its design and sturdy construction, the Luscence has a 500 lb weight limit, making it one of the most accommodating bidet seats on the market. In comparison, the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 offers a 350 lbs weight limit.
Purchasing a bidet seat is an investment in your comfort, cleanliness and health, so having a good warranty is a major bonus. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 comes with a 4 year full warranty, so you can rest easy knowing that your purchase is protected for several years to come. Unfortunately, the INAX Luscence only comes with a 1 year limited warranty, giving you less protection and for a shorter period of time.
It’s clear that there’s a lot to like about each of these units. Overall, we give the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 the win thanks to its nozzle sterilization technology, instant water heater, more eco-friendly water flow rate, two remote options and 4 year full warranty. That said, the INAX Luscence truly shines when it comes to its powerful water flow and weight limit, making it an appealing option if those features are at the top of your must-haves list.
