Detailed Bidet Toilet Seat Comparison: Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 VS. Bio Bidet BB-2000

A Word From The Owner

If you're visiting this page, you have good taste.  These are a couple of my favorite seats. The BB-2000 has been our seat of choice in the Johnson household for years.  Then, along came the Cascade 3000 to give it a run for it's money. This new seat is hard to beat, and has replaced the BB-2000 in our home. It's got a sleek, classy look, a remote that's much more intuitive than the BB-2000 offers. and a sittable lid.  The BB-2000 does offer a slightly more powerful wash, and an enema wash, which might be a reason to go the BB-2000 route especially if you suffer from constipation, but if constipation is not an issue, the Cascade's wash is everything you could need. The water heater in both are slightly different. Some claim they experience a cold burst at the start of a wash when the seat uses an instant water heater, but I don't notice a cold burst at the start of either. The Cascade 3000 also offers a remote and IR receiver paring that works better than others, including the BB-2000. With two receivers, one on either side of the seat, there's never a problem with the remote's signal making it to the seat, even in tight spaces. The Cascade's seat is also quite a bit more comfortable due to the shape and size of the sittable surface. Add to this the sterilization, the fully stainless steel nozzle (the end of the BB-2000's nozzle is plastic) and the better warranty, and it's hard to pass up the Cascade 3000 even at the higher price tag.  My take? You really can't go wrong with either of these seats, but if you don't need the enema wash, the Cascade 3000 very well may be worth the extra money.

Detailed Comparison

Look & Feel

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 features a slim, sleek design that resembles a standard toilet seat and lid. It's available in white or beige, making it easy to match with most bathroom fixtures, but it's only compatible with elongated toilet seats and won't fit on French curve toilets. In comparison, the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 features an elegant, contoured lid and is designed to fit on most one and two piece toilets, including many difficult-to-fit French curve models. While it's only available in white, it does come in both round and elongated seat sizes.

Wash & Dry Features

Nozzles

Stainless steel is considered to be the gold standard for nozzle construction because it's more durable, resistant to scratches and corrosion, and easier to keep clean than most other materials. The Bio Bidet BB-2000 comes with a single, 3-in-1 nozzle, meaning that there's one stainless steel wand with three plastic nozzle spouts on the end of it: one spout is for the front wash, one is for the rear wash, and one is for the enema wash. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 features a single stainless wand with a 2-in-1 stainless steel nozzle tip. In this setup, one stainless steel nozzle spout is dedicated to front washing and the other is dedicated to rear washing. It's worth noting that if you ever need to swap out the Cascade 3000's stainless steel nozzles, you'll need to send the seat in for servicing. The Bio Bidet BB-2000's plastic nozzle tips, on the other hand, can be easily swapped out at home should the original nozzles require deep cleaning or become corroded.

Nozzle Sterilization

While most bidet seats on the market feature nozzles that self-rinse after each use, not all offer nozzle sterilization. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 does provide nozzle sterilization for an added layer of hygiene. The 3000's interior tubing and nozzles are coated in a silver nano solution that prevents contaminants from surviving on the unit's interior surfaces and ensures that the water remains clean as it passes through the unit. This ultra-clean water is then used for the bidet wash and for cleaning the nozzles after each use. The Bio Bidet BB-2000 doesn't offer nozzle sterilization.

Water Flow

Higher water flow corresponds with a more powerful and efficient wash, and the Bio Bidet BB-2000 comes out noticeably ahead in this category thanks to its water flow rate of 0.32 gallons per minute. In comparison, the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 features a flow rate of 0.18 gallons per minute.

Enema Wash

The BB-2000 comes with an enema wash, powered by Bio Bidet's patented Vortex water flow, that's designed to help loosen hard stool and stimulate bowel movements. If you suffer from chronic constipation or other bowel conditions requiring frequent enemas, you'll want a seat with this feature! The Cascade 3000 by Dignity Solutions doesn't come with an enema wash.

Pulse Wash

Pulse washing alters the pressure of the water stream to create a soothing, massage sensations that gently relaxes tender areas and helps stimulate the bowels. The Bio Bidet BB-2000 comes with pulse washing whereas the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 does not.

Child Mode

Bio Bidet's BB-2000 comes with a special feature called "Child Mode" that provides a gentler bidet wash designed for users of a younger age and smaller size. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 doesn't have a child mode.

Comfort & Convenience Features

Water Heater

Both the Bio Biodet BB-2000 and the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 offer unlimited warm water, but they generate it using two different types of water heating methods. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 has an instant water heater that generates unlimited warm water for washing. Downsides to this method are that there can be a quick burst of cool water at the beginning of the wash cycle, and the overall temperature of water warmed via instant heaters can vary by a degree or two throughout the wash cycle, though these variations are small enough that many users don't notice them. In addition, because there's no internal pump on most instant heating units, the water pressure can be a bit lower than on units with tank or hybrid heating systems. The Bio Bidet BB-2000 features a hybrid water heating system that combines the tank and instant water heating methods. In comparison to instant heaters, hybrid heating systems provide unlimited warm water with greater temperature consistency from start to finish along with higher water pressure. One downside to this method is that hybrid heaters tend to be a bit less energy efficient than instant heaters due to the fact that they maintain a small tank of warm water at all times.

Control Options

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 is operated via a remote control featuring a display screen and illustrated buttons, and users have the choice of a white or black remote. The Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 is also operated with a wireless remote, and users have the option of a large remote with intuitive, raised buttons or a smaller, standard-size remote with flat buttons and a display screen.

Sittable Lid

The majority of bidet lids, including the lid on the Bio Bidet BB-2000, aren't designed to support the weight of an adult, and sitting on them can seriously damage the seat. However, the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 comes with a sittable lid that is able to safely support up to 300 lbs, which is a great feature to have if you're accustomed to sitting on your toilet lid while clipping toenails, dressing, or assisting others as they bathe.

Weight Limit

Both the lid and the seat of the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 can support up to 300 lbs. While the Bio Bidet BB-2000's lid cannot support any weight, the seat itself can safely support up to 400 lbs, making it the better choice for larger users.

Warranty

Both the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 automatically comes with a 4 year full warranty whereas the Bio Bidet BB-2000 comes with a 3 year full warranty. The main difference between the two is that Bio Bidet offers the option of upgrading to a 6 year full warranty whereas Dignity Solutions doesn't offer any upgrade options.

Final Thoughts

There are definite pros and cons to each of these bidet seats, and your personal needs and preferences will ultimately be your best guide in determining which is right for your household. When it comes to number of features, the Bio Bidet BB-2000 offers more, thanks to its easily replaceable nozzles, dual color options (white or beige), higher water flow rate, higher seat weight limit, enema wash, pulse wash, child mode, warranty upgrade option, and hybrid water heater. However, if you want a unit that comes with a longer standard warranty, comes in a round seat size, has 100% stainless steel wand and nozzles, features nozzles sterilization or has a sittable lid, the Dignity Solutions Cascade 3000 is the better choice.
