Elongated Toilets

When it comes to bidet toilet seats, elongated toilets are preferred.  There are multiple reasons for this.  Bidet seats use up some of the space in the back of the unit to hold necessary electronics that make the seat work.  Depending on how a person normally sits on their existing toilet seat, they may find that this makes them feel like they are forced to sit further forward on a bidet seat.  When it comes to elongated toilets, this is less of an issue.  Another reason we prefer elongated toilets stems from the fact that the back area of elongated toilets tend to offer more room.  This means the ability to position the bidet seat just right so you have the perfect fit every time.   The one down side of elongated toilets is that they take up more space.  In most bathrooms, this is not an issue, but in bathrooms where space is very limited, a round toilet will work best.  For this reason elongated toilets are much more common then round toilets in the US currently, but in older homes, you are more likely to find round toilets. If you don't know if you have an elongated or round toilet, the diagram below should help.  Of course, if you still have questions after looking at this diagram, don't hesitate to reach out!
