Detailed Comparison of the TOTO Neorest 700H VS Bio Bidet IB-835 Toilet and Bidet Seat

When it comes it integrated units, both of these units are top sellers in their own class.  Looking for a luxury unit that won't break the bank?  The Bio Bidet IB-835 is a great option!  If you're really looking for all the bells and whistles, you'll have to spend a bit more.  If you're wondering how important the added bells and whistles are, simply continue reading below.

Look and Feel

Looks play a big role when choosing an integrated unit.  The TOTO Neorest 700H is one of the few integrated toilet and bidet combos that beat the IB-835 in sleekness.  The IB-835 does have a cool remote that we like a little better than the 700H's remote.  It projects all the settings onto a sheet of glass so you can see what you selected.  So, for the toilet looks, the Neorest 700H wins, but for the looks of the remote, we have to give the win to the IB-835.

Convenience

Auto Opening

The Toto Neorest 700H offers auto opening.  This is done using a motion sensor, combined with a little motor.  Totally a "wow" factor for guests that allows you to take your bathroom remodel to the next level.  If you decide to get the IB-835, you'll have to open the lid like everyone else on the planet.

Nightlight

The TOTO Neorest 700H also offers a built in nightlight.  This gives the rim between the bowl and the lid a glow that softly lights up the bathroom in the middle of the night.  While the IB-835 does not have one that's built in.  You can add an aftermarket one.  The perks to an aftermarket unit?  You have lots of colors to choose from instead of only having a blue option.  The down side; you'll be stuck with a little motion sensor sitting on the outside of your bowl so the light knows when to come on.

Wash

Water Flow

Water flow is an interesting topic.  Many brands see using as little water as possible as a plus because it helps with reduce water usage.  Others contend that more water means a better wash, and isn't that what this is all about?  We're in the second camp.  As a general rule, more water means a better clean.  Because of this, the IB-835 wins in this department.  Coming in at 0.18 gallons per minute vs the Neorest 700H's 0.11 gallons per minute.  The Neorest 700H gets the job done, but the extra water provided by the IB-835 is noticeable.

Water Heating

The instant water heating offered by TOTO's Neorest 700H gives it the win in this category.  It uses what's known as an instant ceramic water heater.  This heater offers instant, unlimited warm water while only varying a degree or two.  The IB-835 on the other hand uses a tank water heater.  This heater offers consistent warm water, but only a couple minutes worth.  After the warm water runs out, it takes 3 to 5 minutes for the water tank to refill.

Other Differences

Weight Limit

Those looking for a unit that supports a bit more weight will want to consider the IB-835.  Both units are heavy duty, but officially, the IB-835 supports 400 pounds while the Neorest 700H only supports 350 pounds.

Flushing

The dual flushing offered by the TOTO Neorest 700H allows you to use the amount of water you need, but not more.  Despite it's low water usage, the flushing power delivered by this unit is top notch.  The IB-835 offers only one flushing option which uses 1.6 gallons per flush.  It does a good job, but it uses a decent amount of water to offer it's flush.

ewater+

Ewater+ is a water sterilization process achieved by applying a small electric charge to the water.  This sterilized water is only used for premising and nozzle cleaning.  The IB-835 does not sterilize the water used to clean it's nozzles.

Premist

Premisting is the act of spraying the bowl before use.  This premisting process is designed to keep debris from sticking to the bowl.  The Neorest 700H offers this feature, while the IB-835 does not.

Customer support

Customer support is top of the line when it comes to Bio Bidet.  Regardless of if you're looking at a bidet seat, or an integrated unit, Bio Bidet takes care of their customers.  We see some mixed experiences when it comes to TOTO support.  Support wise we feel like Bio Bidet offers a better experience.

Final Thoughts

Both of these units are fantastic.  Which you decide on really depends on what you're looking for.  If you're able to spend the money, the TOTO Neorest 700H is a fantastic option, but it's hard to beat the functionality offered by the IB-835 at such a great price.
