Keep in mind that only one filter can be installed at a time. There are three types of filters: iodine, carbon, and ion. Iodine water filters are the most expensive and release small amounts of iodine into the wash water to sterilize it. This type of filter doesn't break down sediment in the water. If you have a septic system, you'll want to be cautious about using an iodine filter because it could kill off the bacteria needed to keep a septic tank running properly. Additionally, iodine filters are not allowed in some states due to concerns about their environmental impact.
Carbon filters remove some of the sediment often found in water with minimal impact on the water's flow rate. This helps keep your bidet's water line free from build up and clogs.
Ion filters soften water while also reducing the build up of minerals. They're great for homes with hard water, but they may reduce the water flow rate, leading to a weaker wash stream.
Some brands discourage the use of water filters (other than those that come with the seat), so if you have questions about what may be appropriate for you, please reach out to our customer service team!
