Detailed comparison of the Swash 1400 vs Bliss BB2000 bidet seats

Today we’re comparing two of our all time favorite bidet seats! When looking at the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 vs The Brondell Swash 1400 bidet seat, you can’t go wrong. With that being said, depending on what you’re looking to get out of a bidet seat, you will likely find one beats the other out. Our goal is to give you the needed tools to determine which of these fantastic seats will suit your needs best.

Look and Feel

Hidden pocket for hose and cord connections

When it comes to the look of a bidet seat things have not changed much over the years. Regardless that seat you decide to use, chances are you’ll have to deal with unsightly cords and hoses. The Swash 1400 bidet seat is changing this with their brand new, innovative design. On other seats you’ll find on the market today (the Bliss BB-2000 included) the connections for the water and power are flush with the seat. On the Brondell Swash 1400, the area that houses these connections is recessed, and tucked away behind the seat. This offers unprecedented sleekness regardless of the toilet being used.

Convenience

Sittable Lid

For those familiar with bidet seats, the idea of a toilet seat that does not have a sittiable lid is a common one. Because bidet seats have a back that is larger than traditional toilet seats, the lids have to be specially contoured to allow them to be sat on. The BB-2000 does not offer a sittable lid, while the Brondell Swash 1400 offers a sittable lid that supports up to 270 pounds.

Save Multiple Wash Settings

Both the Brondell Swash 1400 and the Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 are packed full of features. While both seats save the settings that were used last automatically, if you prefer different settings than someone else in the house, adjusting all the settings every time you use the restroom can be a choir. The Swash 1400 fixes this problem by offering two, intuitive, easy to use, user presets. Know what settings you like? Save them, and instantly have them all at your disposal with the press of one button, thanks to the Swash 1400 bidet seat's user presets.

Easy to replace deodorizer

Both seats offer deodorizers that are designed to last the life of the seat, but as is true with anything, over time the deodorizers can start to wear out. Should you notice the deodorizer start to lesson, you can replace it with either the BB-2000 or the Swash 1400, but the latter offers a design that makes replacing it a breeze.

Removeable nozzle tip

Most bidet seats on the market to not offer easy to remove nozzle tips… So, are they needed? The harder your water, the more likely a replaceable nozzle tip will come in handy. Over time minerals from the water can build up on the seat. The harder your water, the quicker this happens. It most areas, the build up is minimal and poses no threat what so ever. The place you need to worry about buildup is in the nozzle tips themselves, as this is the narrowest point. As buildup happens, if the nozzle tip gets clogged, being able to take it off, and replace it with a brand new tip means you don’t need to send it in for repair.

So which unit has this nifty little feature? The Bliss BB-2000 does! If you don’t have hard water, it might not matter at all, but if you do, you might choose the BB-2000 over the Swash 1400 for this very reason.

Wash

Enema Wash

Those who often suffer from constipation will be thrilled to learn that some seats offer enema functionality! The Bio Bidet BB-2000 offers a Enema feature using a strong, patented stream called a vortex stream. This stream spins the water giving it extra power. Simply line up, relax and the strong, narrow stream will propel water into your lower intestine to loosen hard stool. The swash 1400 does not offer enema function, making the BB-2000 a preferred option for those suffering from constipation.

Adjustable Width

Both seats being compared here offer wide washes. However, the Brondell Swash 1400 takes things a step further by offering 3 different width settings that can be adjusted in real time during any wash, insuring the perfect coverage at the perfect time.

Water pressure system

One question often overlooked when talking about bidet seats is the means used to pressure the water used for the wash. Both these seats use very different methods.

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 uses a built in water pump to control water pressure for it's washes. The benefit to this method? Consistency of water pressure at all times throughout the wash, regardless of other water usage in the house. The down side? Water pumps make noise, this means the BB2000 is slightly louder during operation than the Swash 1400.

The Swash 1400 on the other hand uses the water pressure from the house to control it's washes. This means quieter operation, but also means there's a chance for water pressure variance. This is seldom a problem as the Swash 1400 does still control the pressure in the unit itself. As long as there's enough pressure in the homes lines, there's no problem. In our experience, the only time this has posed a problem is when used in homes with wells where the water pressure can sometimes dip very low, or RVs that can run into the same problem.

Nozzle Propulsion

When it comes to nozzle propulsion, these two seats are very different as well. The BB-2000 uses a belt to propel the nozzle, offering precision most other seats can’t match, but also causing a slightly louder washing experience.

The Swash 1400 on the other hand uses an air pump. The higher the air pressure the further the nozzle comes out. Still fairly accurate, and a bit quieter as well.

Adjustable Nozzle positions and layout

Both the BB2000 and the Swash 1400 offer very different nozzle setups. Both are stainless steel, both are high quality, but that’s about where the similarities end.

The Swash 1400 uses a dual nozzle setup, one for front and one for back washes. Both of these nozzles are designed to offer more distance (more coverage and reach) than any other seat currently on the market. If you’ve been frustrated in the past with nozzles not coming forward enough, or not being able to fine tune the position on the nozzles. We have good news, the Brondell Swash 1400 also offers 7different nozzle position options for both nozzles. Not only do you get further reach, you also get better control!

The BB-2000 offers pretty standard reach with it’s nozzle, but only has one nozzle. This allows the nozzle to be perfectly centered, instead of having two nozzles that are slightly off center like the Swash 1400. This nozzle has great control (as we talked about above) and really does a fantastic job, but only offers 3 different nozzle adjustment positions for front and back. This was industry standard till Brondell made a seat that offered over twice that.

While we love the nozzles used by both of these seats, the longer reach and the additional adjustments offered by the Swash 1400 gives it a clear win in this department.

Other Differences,

Remotes

Remotes used by each seat offer an easy to use design with easy to understand feedback. The buttons on the BB-2000 are raised, making them a bit easier to find in the dark. With the BB-2000 you’ll have a little screen that offers you real time feedback so you know exactly where your wash stands at all times.

The Swash 1400 uses a slightly different approach on their remote. There is no screen, but the operator still gets feedback from a host of little led lights. When changing a temperature setting, the lights will change color to indicate cold, warm, and hot. When changing positioning, the leds move down the remote, ect.

Both seats have wall mounts for their remotes. This means the remotes can be used in hand, or “stuck” to the wall. The Swash 1400 uses a magnet system to secure it’s remote to the wall, while the BB-2000 requires the remote to be slid into the wall mount. Both mounts work great, the BB-2000’s is a bit more secure, but the Swash 1400 just snaps in without any sliding needed.

It’s hard to call a winner on this one. The swash remote itself is a bit clearer, but the feedback on the BB-2000 offers easier to understand information. Sooo, which is better? You decide, we love them both!

Offers a round option

Not much to say on this one. Need a round bidet seat? The BB-2000 is not the seat for you… Switch your toilet out, or go with the Swash 1400 that does offer a round version.

Weight limit

The Swash 1400 offers a weight limit of 330 pounds, while the BB-2000 offers a weight limit of 400 pounds. Both seats are tested with more weight than they are rated for, but to be safe, it’s probably not a great idea to exceed the weight limit.

Warranty

Both of these seats are quality units, but their warranties are a bit different. The Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 offers a three year FULL warranty. This warranty covers 100% labor, parts, shipping for the first three years… You name it, the warranty covers it.

The Brondell Swash 1400 bidet seat offers a three year LIMITED warranty, covering 100% in the first year, 75% in the second year, and 50% in the third year. Even if claiming a warranty in the first year (while your warranty covers 100%) you’ll still be responsible for shipping with the Swash 1400.

Both seats also offer extended warranties for an additional fee. The Swash 1400’s extended warranty takes it out to 5 years, and changes the warranty to a FULL warranty for all 5 years. With this extended warranty, shipping would be covered by Brondell. The BB-2000’s extended warranty is a 6 year full warranty, and covers everything, 100% for those 6 years.

Both companies offer good customer service, but from our experience, Bio Bidet’s customer service wins out. Bio Bidet tends to go above and beyond for their customers, but Brondell is a bit more a stickler for the rules. Due to the lack of issues with either of these seats, it’s probably not something that will ever come up, but it’s worth noting.

Final Thoughts

Comparing these two seats is tricky as both are fantastic, and offer great features. Neither is a clear winner. If you’re on well water, or have very hard water, the Bio Bidet BB-2000 wins out not only due to it’s removeable nozzle tip, but also the built in water pump. If you’re not on well water, it’s totally up to you! Both have great features and a quality design. Depending on your needs and what you’re looking for in a seat, one might win out over the other. Who’s the winner? We’re going to let you decide…
