Detailed Comparison of the Brondell Swash 1400 bidet seat and Blooming NB-1163 bidet seat
Look and Feel
Multiple Color Options
Because the Swash 1400 is a high end unit, it comes in two color choices, white and off-white (biscuit), making it easy to match with your existing bathroom fixtures. The Blooming 1163 is only available in white, so it may not be the best choice for users who want a high end, beige or biscuit unit.
Hiding Connections
While it’s easy to love the comfort and cleanliness that bidet seats offer, no one really cares to look at the cords and hoses that make the bidet run. The good news is that you don’t have to with the Swash 1400, which features a connection concealing pocket that allows you to tuck the cords and hose out of sight. The Blooming 1163 doesn’t provide this option, so its connections remain visible.
Convenience
Programmable User Settings
Both the Brondell Swash 1400 and the Blooming NB-1163 offer an “auto” feature, which runs a standard wash and dry cycle at the touch of a button. This is great for when you’re in a hurry and is also a good fit for multi-user households who have some users that may be confused or overwhelmed by the many options on the remote. The Brondell Swash 1400 takes this one step further and also gives users the option of making up to two customized pre-sets. This means that users can pre-program a completely personalized wash and dry cycle that includes all their favorite settings and initiate it at the touch of a button, making an already luxurious bathroom experience even more convenient. The Blooming 1163 doesn’t offer a pre-set option.
Power Save (Eco) Modes
The Brondell Swash 1400 and Blooming 1163 are both equipped with an energy saving features, meaning that you can save money on energy costs and help the planet, all while enjoying a superior toileting experience. The main difference between the two units is that the Blooming 1163 offers two levels of energy conservation, “energy saving mode” and “super energy saving mode”, while the Swash 1400 only offers one, “eco mode”.
Wireless Remote
Brondell Swash 1400 features a sleek, easy to use wireless remote, which is especially nice for users who have limited range of motion or simply want the added convenience of being able to hold the controls in the palm of their hand. In contrast, the Blooming 1163 features a side control panel that is attached to the bidet seat. Users must look down and to the side to select options, so it’s not an ideal choice for those who have a hard time looking down or need to see the control options up close.
Wash
Positionable Nozzles with Adjustable Spray Width
With seven different nozzle positions, extra long nozzles, and adjustable spray width, the Brondell Swash 1400 offers some of the best nozzle range and precision of any seat on the market. The Blooming 1163 features nozzles with standard length and reach, along with three different nozzle positions, so you’ll get a thorough wash but may need to adjust your body position more than you would with the Swash 1400 to ensure a complete clean.
Hip Bath
The Blooming 1163 features a hip bath option specifically designed for users looking to target discomfort associated with a variety of health concerns, including hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and IBS. While the Brondell Swash 1400 offers an oscillating wash option that can also provide some relief from painful symptoms, it doesn’t have a specially designed hip bath feature.
On Demand Nozzle Sterilization
Nozzle hygiene is important, and the good news is that both the Brondell Swash 1400 and Blooming 1163 feature nozzles that automatically rinse themselves off before and after use. The Blooming 1163 also enables users to lock the nozzle in an extended position to allow for manually cleaning. In comparison, the Brondell Swash 1400 takes nozzle sanitation to the next level with its sanitizing option, which uses silver to naturally destroy bacteria on the nozzles and keep corrosion at bay.
East to Replace Deodorizer
No one likes lingering bathroom odors, and the Brondell Swash 1400 gives users an all-natural, chemical-free tool for keeping their bathroom smelling fresh: a replaceable, activated charcoal deodorizer that completely eliminates odors, rather than masking them with another scent. It’s also easy to replace, making it easy to keep your bathroom smelling clean. The Blooming 1163 doesn’t have a deodorizer, meaning that users will need to ignore the odors or invest in bathroom freshening product.
Other Differences
Warranty
The Blooming 1163 wins the warranty category hands-down, offering an unbeatable 3 year full warranty. The Brondell Swash 1400’s 3 year limited warranty, which can be upgraded to 5 years, is also a pretty good deal, but it just can’t top the Blooming’s full warranty. (unless you decide to upgrade the Swash 1400’s warranty)
Final Thoughts
With its sleek design, wireless remote, hidden connections, multiple color options, and wide range of features, the Brondell Swash 1400 is an almost unbeatable unit. Even so, the Blooming 1163 is strong competition, offering nearly as many features (including a hip bath) and an excellent full warranty. Users whose list of non-negotiables include a wireless remote, off-white unit, programmable settings, deodorizer, and extra nozzle features will want to stick with the Brondell Swash 1400, but those who aren’t set on these features should give the Blooming 1163 serious thought.
