Both the BB-1000 and Swash 1200 are made with a similar classic style, but in this case, the Swash 1200 is a bit more streamlined and sleek in body design. Both models are available in a classic white color and are also made in both round and elongated seat options.
A warm air dryer is a really nice feature to have if you are looking to get away from buying and using expensive, rough toilet paper. The BB-1000 offers a high-end warm air dryer with adjustable temperature settings, so you can find what’s most comfortable for you. The Swash 1200 does not come equipped with a warm air dryer.
Another neat element that comes with the Swash 1200 is its built in LED night light function. This is a great seat feature to have for those who like a convenient, soft lighting option when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. The BB-1000 does not come with a night light.
When it comes to comparing the lids on these two models, the Swash 1200 is a step above with it’s sturdy sittable lid that’s able to hold up to 270 lbs. Surprisingly, a sittable lid is not a common feature found on bidet seat models due to the advanced hardware and controls stored in the housing of the seat. If you or someone in your household likes to use the lid for clipping or painting toenails, this can be a very convenient feature to have.
Both of these seat models also feature soft-closing lids. This is a nice feature that prevents accidental lid slamming, therefore damage being done to the seat.
Rated up to 400 lbs, the BB-1000 has the ability to accommodate slightly more weight than the Swash 1200, which holds about 330 lbs.
One of the design differences between the BB-1000 and Swash 1200 is the way water is heated by the unit. The BB-1000 has a limited, tank water heater that can produce about one minute of warm water at a time. Furthermore, the tank takes about 3 to 5 minutes to refill with warm water. Alternatively, the Swash 1200 has a more desirable instant water heater that produces unlimited warm water.
The BB-1000 comes equipped with a single, 3 in 1 nozzle made of plastic. The three spouts represent each of the seats wash functions, front, rear and enema. Alternatively, the Swash 1200 comes with dual, stainless steel nozzles with one dedicated to the front wash and one to the rear. In this case, stainless steel is the preferable material for bidet seat nozzles. Stainless steel is naturally a hygienic material and prevents the buildup of germs and bacteria. For added sanitation, both models’ nozzles perform a self cleaning function when the seat is used.
Additionally, both the BB-1000 and Swash 1200 have adjustable nozzles for versatility and a nozzle oscillation function.
While it is rare that the nozzles on a bidet seat will need replacing, it is worth mentioning that the nozzle on the BB-1000 is easily replaceable, while the nozzles on the Swash 1200 are not.
In comparing these two seat models, the difference in the rate of water flow is quite significant. WIth the Swash 1200, the water flow rate is 0.11 gallons per minute, while the BB-1000 has a much stronger rate of 0.32 gallons per minute. The benefit of higher water flow rate is a more powerful water stream, and therefore a faster and more effective wash. Impressively, the BB-1000 currently has the best water pressure of any seat currently made.
The wide spray feature is effective for those looking for more water coverage, resulting in a faster cleaning process. The Swash 1200 offers a wide spray option that is adjustable so you can find a setting that works best for your preferences. While the Swash 1200 does not offer a wide spray setting, the very high water flow rate mentioned above does compensate for the lack of this feature.
The pulse wash is a feature in which the water stream pulsates to create a massaging effect. This can be beneficial for helping to stimulate bowel movements. The BB-1000 offers the the pulse wash option, while the Swash 1200 does not.
In this seat model comparison one of the great features unique to the Swash 1200 is the one button wash. This is convenient option for those who are not comfortable configuring multiple settings and want the ease of a simple auto wash.
The BB-1000 comes equipped with a top-of-the-line enema wash function, that utilizes Bio Bidet’s patented Vortex Technology. The enema wash forces a powerful, circular stream of water into the rectum to help stimulate bowel movements and is a highly beneficial feature for those who suffer from chronic constipation. The Swash 1200 does not include an enema wash function.
Another difference you will notice between these two models is style of their remotes. The Swash 1200 comes with a traditional, streamlined push button remote, while the BB-1000 includes what is considered the largest wireless remote currently on the market. The large remote is an ideal option for those who may have certain disabilities that require them to operate the remote with their feet. Both remote styles are wall-mountable for convenience.
One function utilized by the BB-1000 in comparison to the Swash 1200 is a high-quality deodorizer. This built in fan pulls air through an active carbon filter, absorbing the odors created during use. This filter never needs replacing, so it’ll keep your bathroom smelling fresh and clean every time you use the toilet.
The user preset function, which in this case is included on the Swash 1200, is a very convenient and beneficial feature for those who will be sharing the bidet seat with another household member. With user presets, you can pre-program your specific and personal wash preferences via the remote so you don’t have to reconfigure your settings with every use. The Swash 1200 allows for up to two people to program their preferences.
For the BB-1000, Bio Bidet offers a 3 year limited warranty with the ability to upgrade to a generous 6 year full warranty for extra insurance. In comparison, when purchasing the Swash 1200, the warranty is noticeably less. Brondell only includes a 1 year full warranty with the option to upgrade to a 3 year full warranty. If you are inclined to prefer the extra insurance of a longer warranty plan, the Bio Bidet brand might be a better fit for you.
