Detailed Comparison of the Bio Bidet BB-800 Prestige and the Bio Bidet A7 Aura Bidet Seats.
If you are looking to add a bidet to your home, but are shopping on a budget, these two bidet seat models are definitely worth looking into. The A7 Aura and BB-800 Prestige, both by the reputable Bio Bidet company, offer some great, basic luxury features at an affordable price so you can add comfort and convenience to your bathroom. Below, we go through the details and differences between these two seats for your consideration.
Design
Even at their price point, the BB-800 and A7 are well made seats that offer quality features. The A7 seat has a contoured and curved design, which gives it a modern and more updated look. On the other hand, the BB-800 possesses a more straightforward, basic design aesthetic.
This BB-800 can be purchased for either round or elongated style toilets, while the A7 is only available for elongated styles. Both are made in a classic white color.
Controls
One common design element that these two seats share is the the side panel controls connected to the right of each seat. The side panel controls can be a good option for those who don’t want to worry about misplacing their remote control or prefer the convenience of the placement. Although they are both intuitive and function similarly, The BB-800 panel has a slightly different layout and offers brightly colored icon buttons, while the A7 provides a convenient LED illumination feature for easily choosing your options in the dark.
Wash
Nozzles
The BB-800 includes Bio Bidet’s patented, 3 in 1 nozzle that performs a front wash, rear wash and powerful turbo wash. Alternatively, the A7 comes with a 2 in 1 stainless steel nozzle that only offers basic front and rear washes. Additionally, the nozzles on both of these seat models provide a wide spray, an oscillating wash, and a soothing pulse wash.
It is worth noting that stainless steel is considered a better material for bidet nozzles due to its bacteria and germ resistant properties, However, both the A7 and BB-800 do have nozzles that self-clean.
Rate of Water Flow
A bidet seats water flow rate will help determine how powerful and effective your wash cycle will be. In this comparison, the A7 has a respectable rate of 0.18 gallons per minute, while the BB-800 has a rate nearly twice as high at 0.32 gallons per minute. A higher water flow rate can be beneficial for those who experience urinary and bowel incontinence since it can help provide a more thorough cleaning. Additionally, a higher rate can be nice if you are just looking to get clean a little faster.
Turbo Wash
The Bio Bidet BB-800 offers a strong turbo wash cycle. This special wash option sprays a more focus water stream, which helps to stimulate bowel movements. While the turbo wash is not as powerful as Bio Bidet’s patented enema wash, it can still bring comfort to those who struggle with constipation.
Other Details
Warm Air Dryer
For those that have certain conditions or handicaps that prevent them from thoroughly wiping, the warm air dryer could be one of the most important features a bidet seat offers. This feature is not always included on entry to mid-level bidet seats, however, the BB-800 does include this valuable function and even allows you to adjust the air temperature. Toilet paper can create a lot of issues and even result in additional health concerns for those who have trouble using it. Thankfully, a warm air dryer on your bidet allows you to virtually eliminate irritating toilet paper from your bathroom routine. Not only is this a game changer those who struggle with dexterity, coordination and balance, but you will also be adopting more eco-friendly habits and saving money by spending less on paper. Unfortunately, the A7 does not include any sort of air dryer.
One Button Auto Wash
This is a convenient feature the A7 comes equipped with that is beneficial to those who may be intimidated by all the different settings and options that the bidet offers. With the Auto wash, you will receive a basic wash cycle at just the touch of a button. This is a great option for guests or those of an older age who may want to use the seat, but prefer not to mess with multiple buttons. The BB-800 does not have an auto wash feature.
LED Night Light
If you or someone in your home frequently visits the bathroom in the middle of the night, a great option to have on your bidet seat is a built-in night light. The A7 includes a convenient, integrated LED illumination feature that produces a soft glow so you can easily find your way around the bathroom in the dark.
User Presets
This is a great option to have if you will be sharing your bidet seat with another household member and want to simplify your bathroom experience. Through user presets, you can program your favorite options so you don’t have to reconfigure the seat with every use. The Aura A7 includes this convenient feature and allows for you to program presets for up to two users.
Final Thoughts
The BB-800 and A7 are two great seats to consider if you are looking for an affordable, entry level to mid level bidet, and whether you choose one model over the other directly depends on the needs of your household. While the A7 does offer a lot of nice convenience features like the auto wash, LED night light and user presets, the lack of a warm air dryer could be problematic for some. If anyone using the bidet struggles with any special needs in the bathroom, such as constipation, incontinence, or any sort of balance and mobility issues, the BB-800 will probably be your best bet. However, if the warm air dryer is not important to you, and prefer the added convenience options, the A7 is a great way to introduce a more hygiene and comfort into your bathroom routine.
