Detailed Comparison of the Brondell Swash 1000 and Blooming Bidet 1163 Bidet Seats
If you are looking to step towards better cleanliness and increased comfort, adding a bidet seat to your bathroom is a must. Below, we sort through the details and differences between these two popular seat models in order to help you decide which is best for your household.
Design
Both of these seats are designed to add luxury to your bathroom. If you prefer more modern design elements, you will love the sleek and smooth style of the Brondell Swash 1000. Alternatively, if you have a more classic design aesthetic, the Blooming 1163 lid has a classy and appealing beveled edge. Both the Brondell Swash 1000 and Blooming 1163 come in a classic white color, but the Swash 1000 also comes in a biscuit color in case that suits your bathroom color scheme better. Regardless of your style preferences, both seats provide a significant style upgrade to your bathroom.
Sittable Lid
Most people wouldn’t think twice about sitting on a regular toilet seat lid, but unfortunately this is not an option on most bidet seats. Because of the advanced hardware stored within the seat, the typical bidet seat cannot support the weight of an adult. However, in this regard, the Swash 1000 is not your typical seat. The Swash 1000 is built with a special sittable lid that can support up to a generous 270 lbs. This is a great option to have if you or someone in your household likes to sit on the seat lid for activities like painting or clipping toenails.
Remote & Controls
One of the biggest design differences between these seats is the way in which they are controlled. As you will notice, the Blooming 1163 has a slim control panel connected to the right side of the unit. This gives you easy and convenient access to all of the seat’s wash and dry options. Alternatively, if you prefer a hand held method of control, the Swash 1000 comes with an intuitive remote that you can mount to the wall. This easy to use remote also includes a handy illumination feature so you can better see your chosen options.
Wash & Dry Features
Nozzles
Another element that sets these two seats apart is their difference in nozzle design. The Swash 1000 comes equipped with dual stainless steel nozzles, with one nozzle dedicated to the front wash and the other to the rear wash. On the other hand, the Blooming 1163 includes a single, 2-1 nozzle made of aluminum. Stainless steel nozzles, like those on the Brondell Swash 1000, are preferable because of stainless steel’s bacteria and germ resistant properties. Despite these differences, The nozzles on these seats are both self-cleaning and perform high quality wash functions like feminine washing, posterior washing and nozzle oscillation. Additionally, the Brondell Swash 1000 nozzle has an extra sterilization feature that uses a silver-nano solution to eradicate any germs or bacteria that might be lurking.
Water Flow
On a bidet seat, the water flow rate determines the power of your water stream and the effectiveness of your wash. While both of these seats offer quality wash options, the Blooming 1163 has a stronger flow rate of 0.18 compared to Swash 1000’s rate of 0.11. This means that the Blooming 1163 can deliver a slightly more powerful wash, enabling you to get clean a little faster.
Wide Spray
Wide spray, which is offered on the Brondell Swash 1000, is a nice option to have if you are looking for added water coverage and therefore a faster wash. Although the Blooming 1163 does not come with a wide spray option, it’s higher water flow rate (discussed above) partially compensates for the lack of a wide wash feature and still provides very effective cleansing.
Comfort & Convenience
Deodorizer
The Brondell Swash 1000 comes equipped with a high quality deodorizer to combat unpleasant bathroom odors. This automatic function pulls air through powerful carbon filter and effectively neutralizes any foul odors, leaving your bathroom smelling fresh and clean. Unfortunately, the Blooming 1163 does not offer a deodorizer.
One Button Wash & Dry
The Blooming 1163 comes with a one button wash & dry option that is great if you or a loved one would benefit from a simple, automatic wash and dry function. This feature lets you enjoy all the benefits of your seat, but without the complications of having to mess with multiple settings or buttons. The one button wash and dry is also a wonderful feature for elderly users who prefer a simpler way to get clean.
Warranty
Both Brondell and Blooming Bidet offer great 3 year warranties for their seats. However, for the Swash 1000, Brondell takes its coverage a step further with an optional upgrade to a 5 year full warranty. If you prefer to have the added insurance and peace of mind of the extended warranty, Brondell is a great company to work with.
Final Thoughts
The Brondell Swash 1000 and Blooming 1163 both offer some great wash options. Which one you choose will probably come down to how you prefer to control the seat. If you prefer having the control panel attached to the seat, you will like the Blooming 1163. However, if you prefer having a remote style control that you can hold, you will definitely want to go in the direction of the Brondell Swash 1000. Regardless of which you choose, adding a bidet seat to your home is a wonderful and healthy step toward convenience and comfort.
