Detailed Comparison of the Brondell Swash 1000 and Bio Bidet A8 Bidet Toilet Seats
The Swash 1000 and Bio Bidet A8 are both designed with luxury in mind. With either seat model, you will be upgrading your bathroom routine to a spa-like experience that everyone can benefit from. Below, we detail the specific differences between these two popular seat models so you may make an informed decision and choose the best product for you and your family.
Design
Style
Although the A8 and Swash 1000 both have classy and attractive designs that will fit with any bathroom decor, the A8 is contoured in such a way that it has a more modern, streamlined and sleek look to it. In contrast, the Swash 1000’s style could be described as a bit more classic.
Additionally, A8 features a uni-body design with special hose clips in order to keep any unsightly hoses and cords neatly tucked away.
Both of these seat models are available in white and the Swash 1000 also comes in a biscuit color, for those who prefer an off-white tone in their bathroom. Also, the the Swash 1000 is available in both round and elongated seat configurations, while the A8 is only available in elongated.
Lid
Surprisingly, most bidet seats on the market today are not equipped with a sittable lid. Being that most seats have to accommodate hardware for all the advanced functions they perform, most simply are not designed to hold a lot of weight. Impressively, The Swash 1000 is constructed in such a way that not only can you sit on the lid, but it can generously hold up to 270 lbs. This is a great and convenient feature if you or someone in your household likes to use the toilet seat for activities like clipping or painting toenails.
Weight Limit
The A8 has a weight limit of 400 lbs , but has also been tested to hold up to 500 lbs! In comparison, the Swash 1000 can hold up to 330 lbs.
Wash
Nozzles
The Swash 1000 comes with dual nozzles for it’s front and rear wash, while the A8 utilizes a single nozzle with 2-in-1 functionality for these same washes. The nozzles on both of these models are hygienic stainless steel, which is an optimal material for repelling germs and resisting bacteria build-up. For additional sanitation, the Swash 1000 has an extra sterilization process for it’s nozzles using silver-nano sterilization.
Water Flow
At 0.18 gallons per minute, the A8’s rate water flow is almost twice as much as the Swash 1000’s 0.11 gallons per minute. The higher the flow rate, the more powerful the water stream, resulting in a more efficient cleaning process.
Aeration
Most bidet seats offer a permanent aeration feature, which is the infusion of air bubbles into the water stream to create a more powerful cleansing effect. While this is a great feature to have most of the time, the A8 gives the user the unique ability to turn off the aeration effect for a gentler, weaker stream if desired. Turning off aeration may be beneficial to those who suffer from hemorrhoids, extra sensitivity, or are recovering from certain surgeries.
One Button Wash & Dry
This is a great feature for those who may be intimidated by programming and dealing with the multiple wash settings that a bidet seat offers. Bio Bidet’s A8 offers this convenient feature so that you can have an automatic wash and dry with just the touch of a button. This has also been known to be a very helpful and valuable function for those of a elderly age who want to benefit from using a bidet seat, but are looking for more ease and simplicity. The Swash 1000 does not offer the one button wash and dry feature.
Other Differences
Warm Air Dryer
While most bidet seat models offer an adjustable temperature warm air dryer on the seat, the A8 takes this feature a step further and also offers adjustable power settings. With the A8 you can choose either the standard dry or the powerful turbo dry, which is great if you’re in a hurry and need a faster option.
Child Mode
If there are children in your household that would benefit from using a bidet seat, you may want to consider a seat that offers a child mode function, like the A8. Simply choose the child mode setting using the A8’s remote for a gentler wash suited for a youngster. The Swash 1000 doesn’t offer a child mode function.
Night light
Another neat feature that the A8 offers is the integrated LED nightlight. This a very convenient setting that can be programmed via the remote and makes those night time bathroom visits a little easier.
User Presets
The use of the user preset function is very convenient for those who will be sharing the bidet seat with a spouse or other household member. This function allows you to pre-program the desired wash settings for two different users without having to reconfigure everything each time. Out of these two seat models, the A8 is the only one that offers the user preset function.
Remotes
In comparison, the remotes for these two models are pretty different stylistically. The Swash 1000 comes with a one-sided remote that has push button functionality, while the A8 has a dual-sided, flat button remote with a smoother and sleeker aesthetic. The front side of the A8 remote is a simple layout and shows the more basic functions of the bidet seat. The back-side of the remote displays the more advanced features, and there is also a LED screen for easy programming.
Final Thoughts
While both the Bio Bidet A8 and the Brondell Swash 1000 are great, top-of-the-line bidet seats, whichever you choose will depend on your personal preferences and which features are most important to you and your household. If a sittable lid is a must, the Swash 1000 will be your best option. Alternatively, If you prefer extra features such as, user presets, child mode, a LED nightlight and one button wash and dry, you may be inclined towards the A8. Either way you go, you will be adding comfort and luxury to you bathroom routine.
