Detailed Comparison of the Bio Bidet IB-835 Integrated Bidet and Toilet and the TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET Combo

One of the main draws to the IB-835 is it’s price point.  Quality wise, we find that both units are very similar.  Features wise the G400 does have the edge.  Below we’ll go over every aspect of these two units to make sure you’re able to make the best choice possible.

Look and Feel

For look and feel, a big part is based on your own preference.  You can see both units above in the table.  In our opinion, we like the look of the IB-835 a bit better.  It’s a bit sleeker and more streamlined.  The remote also offers a higher wow factor with a pop-out menu, and a screen that’s simply a sheet of glass that the current settings are projected onto.

Functionality

Flushing

Flushing wise, the G400 has a slight edge.  Both offer very similar flushing power, but the G400 does it with less water, using only 1.28 gallons per flush v.s. the IB-835’s 1.6 gallons per flush.  To top this off, the G400 also offers dual flushing.  This means that when you have a small bowl movement, or just need to do number 1, you can use less water by choosing the eco flush which uses only 0.9 gallons per flush.  Not worried about how much water you’re using?  Both units are great choices.

Auto Opening

Auto opening is great for those who either want the wow factor in full force, or want to remove the need to touch the toilet with their hands at all.  Nothing screams “cool” like walking into a bathroom, and being acknowledged by the toilet as it opens to prepare for your visit.  As you can tell from the table above, the TOTO G400 offers this function while the IB-835 does not.

Water Flow

When we talk about water flow, we’re talking about how much water flows through the nozzle as the wash is being run.  Needless to say, we tend to find that as water flow goes up (more water is used for the wash) the effectiveness of the wash also goes up.  The TOTO G400 continues to conserve water in it’s washes as well, topping out at 0.11 gallons per minute coming from the nozzles while the wash runs.  The IB-835 however uses 0.18 gallons per minute in it’s washes.  This little increase in water flow lends itself to a decently better wash.  If water conservation is primary, hands down the TOTO G400 is the unit to get.  However, if the idea of using more water to get a better wash is appealing, you will want to give the Bio Bidet IB-835 a good hard look.

PREMIST

PREMIST is a feature where the toilet bowl gets sprayed down before use.  This is designed to help prevent anything from sticking to the toilet bowl. From our experience, it does help some, but isn’t a deal breaker.  The TOTO G400 WASHLET offers this feature but the Bio Bidet IB-835 does not.

Weight Limit

When it comes to testing weight limits, Bio Bidet has TOTO beat.  The TOTO G400 is rated for weights up to 350 pounds, while the Bio Bidet IB-835 is rated for weights up to 400 pounds.  If you’re on the smaller side, either unit will work just fine.  If you’re larger, we recommend the Bio Bidet IB-835.

Final Thoughts

There are a few items we’ve not touched on yet…  quality and warranty.  Quality wise, both units are top notch, with a warranty to match.  Both units offer a 3 year full warranty.  When it comes to customer service, Bio Bidet does win out.  They are easy to get a hold of, and put the customer first.  TOTO, being a larger company, we find a bit harder to reach, and should something go wrong a bit trickier to get help.  Hopefully you’ve found the details shared here helpful.  If you have any other questions or concerns at all, just ask!
