Look and Feel
There’s a noticeable difference in the overall design of the TOTO Neorest AH versus the Bio Bidet IB-835, and your own personal aesthetic preferences are the best guide in choosing the look that feels right to you. Both units feature a skirted design, which creates a sleek look and is easier to keep clean than a regular toilet. Similarly, both units have angular designs with crisp, smooth edges. One of the main difference between the two is that the base of the Bio Bidet IB-835 is contoured and tapers inward similar to a traditional toilet, whereas the TOTO Neorest AH has a broad base that lends a contemporary flare.
Wash Features
Water Flow
The TOTO Neorest AH comes out ahead of the Bio Bidet IB-835 in the area of water-conservation. One example of this is that the Neorest AH uses between 0.8 and 0.11 gallons of wash water per minute, whereas the Bio Bidet IB-835 uses 0.18 gallons per minute. While the difference is small and is unlikely to cause a noticeable difference in wash quality between the two units, the amount of water saved by the Neorest AH over time can add up, leading to a happier wallet and a healthier planet.
Water Heater
The Neorest AH comes with an instant water heater that guarantees a never-ending stream of warm wash water. The Bio Bidet IB-835 has a tank water heating system, which keeps a limited amount of warm water on hand at all times. If you deplete the warm water in the tank by running a particularly long wash cycle or using the unit several times in quick succession, the tank can run out of warm water. When this happens, the bidet will use ambient temperature water until the tank can refill and reheat, which takes a few minutes.
Flushing
The TOTO Neorest AH offers dual flushing: a small, 0.8 gallon flush for liquid waste and a larger, 1.0 gallon flush for solid waste. In contrast, the Bio Bidet IB-835 comes with a single, 1.6 gallon flush. Many of our customers wonder if the Bio Bidet IB-835’s larger flush does a better job compared to the TOTO Neorest AH’s smaller volume flushes, and in our experience, the answer is no, not really. The Neorest AH is equipped with TOTO’s powerful, Tornado Flush technology that is both effective and water efficient.
Comfort & Convenience
PREMIST
The Neorest AH is one of TOTO’s units that features PREMIST, a process by which the bidet coats the toilet bowl with a thin film of water prior to use to keep waste from sticking to the bowl. This helps keep the toilet cleaner longer and cuts down on the amount of cleaning it requires.
EWATER+
EWATER+ is TOTO’s name for the sterile, electrolyzed water that the Neorest AH uses to PREMIST the bowl and to sanitize the nozzles after each use. The Bio Bidet IB-835 uses regular, non-sterile water to rinse its nozzles after each use.
Night Light
Stumbling around the bathroom in the dark or being blinded by the bathroom light is no one’s idea of a good time, and thanks to the TOTO Neorest AH’s built-in nightlight, you won’t have to. The Neorest AH’s nightlight illuminates the bowl with a gentle glow, making it easier to find your way to the toilet in low light situations. The Bio Bidet IB-835 doesn’t come with a built-in nightlight, but you can purchase an aftermarket nightlight separately and install it yourself if this feature is a must-have for you.
Summary
Between the two, the TOTO Neorest AH undoubtedly offers a wider range of features compared to the Bio Bidet IB-835, including dual flushing, an instant water heater, PREMIST, EWATER+, a built-in nightlight, and a beige color option. Notably, the TOTO Neorest AH also comes with several water-saving features that the Bio Bidet IB-835 doesn’t have, making it the greener of the two models. Furthermore, if more than one person will be using your bidet unit, you may want to consider whether you want the Neorest AH for its instant water heating system, since it never runs out of warm wash water no matter how often it’s used. While the Bio Bidet IB-835 is the less expensive unit, you’ll have to weigh whether the difference in price is worth foregoing the extra conveniences offered by the Neorest AH.
