In addition to its aesthetic advantages, the one-piece design allows for easy cleaning since it eliminates the spaces where dirt and grime tend to hide.
A downside to the one-piece style is that they're bulkier to move and maneuver than the pieces of a two-piece toilet. Additionally, one-piece toilets and bidets are often more expensive than two-piece models. Lastly, some one-piece toilets are skirted, which means the plumbing and bolts are hidden. Though skirted toilets look extra chic, the lack of access to the plumbing and bolts can make them harder to install. A "top-mounting kit", sold separately, offers a good work around for this issue.
