Detailed Comparison of the Bio Bidet dib-850 Special Edition and Bio Bidet BB-1000 Supreme Bidet Seats

Bio Bidet’s BB-1000 and dib-850 bidet seats are popular models that possess high quality wash options and great convenience features. Below, we walk through the differences between these seats so you can feel confident deciding between them.

Design

Both the dib-850 and the BB-1000 are well crafted and thoughtfully designed seats by Bio Bidet. The dib-850 has a sleeker and more streamlined look when compared to the BB-1000, but both of these seats are aesthetically pleasing and would look great in any bathroom. In addition, both seats are come in a clean white color and each is available in an elongated and a round version.

Sittable Lid

While most people wouldn’t think twice about sitting on a toilet seat lid, this is advised against with most bidet seats. Because advanced wiring and hardware are typically housed within the back of the seat, they simply cannot support the weight of an adult. This is where the Bio Bidet dib-850 brings something different to the table. The Bio Bidet dib-850 includes a lid that individuals up to 200lbs can sit on. If you or someone in your household likes to sit on the lid, you will definitely want to consider buying a seat that includes this convenient option. It is also important to think about a seat with a sittable lid if someone in your household requires assistance while bathing and your bathroom is configured in such a way that you need to sit on the lid in order help them.

Wash

Water Heaters

One of the main advantages to an electric bidet seat is the ability to have hot water for the wash without needing a hot water line.  While nearly any electric bidet seat offers this feature, the method used by electric bidets to heat the water differs depending on the model.  The Bio Bidet dib-850 uses an instant water heater, which means it is able to produce unlimited warm water.  The Bio Bidet BB-1000 bidet seat on the other had uses a tank water heater.  This means about 45 seconds to 1.5 minutes of warm water.  If you’re simply using it to run a wash, 45 seconds of warm water is more than enough for most, but if you need it to sooth tender areas, as may be the case after surgery or with certain bowel conditions, you may need more.  Choosing between the BB-1000 and the dib-850 may be as easy as asking yourself: “Is unlimited warm water important to me?”

Nozzles

The nozzles of the Bio Bidet dib-850 and the BB-1000 function very similarly. Both seats come equipped with single, 3-in-1 nozzles that provide high quality front, rear and enema washes. Additionally, both of these nozzles are adjustable, self cleaning and oscillate for extra soothing power. The nozzles on the BB-1000 and dib-850 differ when it comes to the material from which they’re crafted. The BB-1000’s nozzle is made of plastic, while the dib-850’s nozzle is made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is the more hygienic material for a bidet seat due to its germ and bacteria resistant properties.

Water Flow

A bidet seat’s water flow rate can impact the effectiveness and speed of the cleansing process. The Bio Bidet BB-1000’s water flow rate is 0.32  gallons per minute and is twice as powerful as the dib-850’s rate of 0.16. A higher water flow rate can be a nice option for those who suffer from urinary and bowel incontinence since it can help provide a very thorough cleaning after an accident. It also can be beneficial for those who are just looking to get clean and on their way a little faster.

Wide Spray

In a way, the wide spray function provides similar results to the aforementioned high water flow rate. As the name implies, the wide spray feature provides additional water coverage on your body and can benefit those with incontinence issues, or for those looking to speed up the cleansing process. Only the Bio Bidet dib-850 offers a wide spray wash option, though the BB-1000’s high rate of water flow compensates for it’s lack of this feature.

Comfort & Convenience

One Button Wash & Dry

One button washing and drying is a great feature for those who may be intimidated by programming and dealing with the multiple wash settings that a bidet seat offers. The Bio Bidet dib-850 offers this convenient feature so that you can initiate an automatic wash and dry cycle with just the touch of a button. Elderly users who want to benefit from using a bidet seat but are looking for additional ease and simplicity may also like this feature. Unfortunately, the BB-1000 does not offer a one button wash and dry.

User Presets

The user preset function is very convenient for those who will be sharing their bidet seat with another household member. This function allows you to pre-program the desired wash settings for two different users without having to reconfigure everything each time. Between these two seat models, the Bio Bidet dib-850 is the only one that offers the user preset function.

LED Night Light

It’s always nice to have an integrated night light, especially if you or someone in your household frequently makes night time visits to the bathroom. The Bio Bidet dib-850 includes a convenient LED illumination feature that lights up the toilet bowl and produces a soft glow so you can easily find your way around the bathroom in the middle of the night. The BB-1000 does not come with a night light

Remote Controls

One thing that makes the Bio Bidet BB-1000 so unique is its large, panel style remote. This remote clearly displays easy to understand icon buttons that are simple to press, which makes this bidet seat a great choice for anyone who struggles with dexterity or coordination. Furthermore, this remote can be mounted to wall for accessibility. On the other hand, the Bio Bidet dib-850 includes a remote that is slim, sleek and has touchscreen-like buttons for programming settings. While, the dib-850 remote is intuitively laid out, it may not be as easy for those with certain disabilities to use it in comparison to the BB-1000’s remote. Like most controls, the dib-850 remote can be mounted to the wall for convenience.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Bio Bidet dib-850 provides the user with more high-end technology and features than the Bio Bidet BB-1000. The Bio Bidet dib-850’s extra features include a one button wash and dry option, instant water heater,  user-presets, sittable lid, LED nightlight, and stainless steel nozzles. However, these features do come with a slightly higher price tag. For a lower price, the Bio Bidet BB-1000 offers some great features like the high water flow rate for a more affordable price. If you can live without the extra features, or if you could benefit from the simple, panel style remote, the BB-1000 would be a great option for your home. However, if a sittable lid or unlimited warm water is a necessity for you household, the dib-850 will probably be your best bet. Since both seats are from the very reputable Bio Bidet company, you really can’t go wrong with either one.
