Detailed Comparison of the Kohler Novita BH 90/93 and the Bio Bidet dib-850 Bidet Seats

The Kohler Novita BH-90/93 and the Bio Bidet dib-850 Special Edition seat are both high-end bidet seats complete with numerous features that will add luxury and comfort to your bathroom. Below, we walk you through and compare the different design elements offered on these seats so you can make the best purchase for you and your household.

Look & Feel

Both of these seats are crafted with high quality materials and technology that provides fantastic wash and dry options. Not only are the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 and the Bio Bidet dib-850 designed with comfort in mind, they also feature an attractive, sleek and modern style that will elevate your bathroom decor. It’s important to note that the Bio Bidet dib-850 is arguably one of the most comfortable bidet seats on the market today. Designed with special curves and contours, the dib-850 conforms to the shape of the human body, which creates a more natural sitting position and offers extra back support.

For added versatility, both of these seats are available in round and elongated toilet options and they both come in a clean, crisp white color.

Wash & Dry Features

Nozzles

Both the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 and the Bio Bidet dib-850 come with high quality nozzles made of durable, hygienic stainless steel. The Kohler Novita BH-90/93 is equipped with dual style nozzles, with one nozzle dedicated to the front wash and one dedicated to the rear wash. On the other hand, the dib-850 includes Bio Bidet’s patented 3 in 1 nozzle. The dib-850’s three spout nozzle performs the front, rear and enema wash function from one single nozzle. In addition, both of these seat models offer a soothing pulse wash and an oscillating spray option.

It’s also worth noting that, the dib-850 cleans with a wider than usual stream of water and also offers adjustability with its oscillating wash. In comparison, the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 doesn’t have a wide spray option, but it does comes with a nozzle sterilization function that sanitizes the nozzles using a silver nano solution.

Water Flow

Both of these seat models offer strong water flow rates. The Kohler Novita BH-90/93 water stream comes in at 0.14 gallons per minute and the Bio Bidet dib-850 has a slightly higher rate of 0.16 gallons per minute. Generally speaking, a higher water flow rate means a stronger water stream and a more powerful wash. If you are inclined to want a faster wash experience, a high water flow rate is a good feature to look for, but the flow rate on these two seats is so similar that you’re unlikely to notice a significant difference.

Enema Wash

The enema wash feature, which comes standard on the Bio Bidet dib-850, is a must have option for those who suffer from chronic constipation. The dib-850 utilizes Bio Bidet’s patented, state of the art vortex technology for one of the most powerful and effective enema washes on the market today. This function works to provide relief by forcing a circular stream of water into the rectum, which loosens stool and can stimulate bowel movements. The Kohler Novita BH-90/93 does not have an enema wash feature.

Wide Spray

A wide spray is another nice wash option that comes with the Bio Bidets dib-850. As the name suggests, the wide spray feature gives a broader stream of water for more coverage. Generally speaking, the wide spray wash is able to offer an even more thorough cleanse than the standard width spray.

Comfort & Convenience

Child Mode

This feature is an automatic cleansing setting that offers a gentler wash cycle that is more appropriate for a young person. Although it’s technically designed for children, this can also be a great feature for the elderly looking for a gentler, automatic wash option. The Kohler Novita BH-90/93 comes with a child mode option while the Bio Bidet dib-850 does not.

Sittable Lid

While most people wouldn’t think twice about sitting on a toilet seat lid, that’s not possible with most bidet seats. Because advanced wiring and controls are typically housed within the seat, the lid simply cannot support the weight of an adult human. This is where the dib-850 brings something different to the table. The Bio Bidet dib-850 includes a lid that you can actually sit on and it is built to hold up to 200lbs. If you or someone in your household likes to sit on the lid for any reason at all, you will definitely want to consider the Bio Bidet dib-850 since it comes with this very convenient option.

Auto Open Lid

While the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 does not have a desirable sittable lid, it does have a technologically advanced lid that can be programmed to automatically open when you enter your restroom. Alternatively, you can open it by pressing a button on the remote, or open it manually as you would with most toilets. This is a really cool option to have if you are looking for the ultimate hands free experience or if you like to keep up with the latest technology. The Bio Bidet dib-850 does not have the auto open lid, but both models do feature soft closing lids so you don’t have to worry about accidental slamming.

User Presets

A user preset function is an excellent option to have if you will be sharing your bidet seat with another household member. This feature allows you to save your favorite wash settings so you don’t have to reconfigure your options with every use. The Bio Bidet dib-850 allows you to conveniently program up to two user presets whereas the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 does not offer this feature.

Remote Options

The Kohler Novita BH- 90/93 includes a horizontally set, panel style remote control that features a screen for choosing your different wash and dry options. This control is also back-lit for easy use in the dark. In contrast the Bio Bidet dib-850 comes with a standard hand held remote with touchscreen-like functionality and an illumination feature. For convenient access, both of these remotes can be mounted to the wall. Compared to the Kohler Novita BH-90/93, the Bio Bidet dib-850’s remote has a slightly more intuitive design that is simpler to operate.

Warranty

When it comes to extended coverage, Bio Bidet’s warranties go a step above the competition. Though Kohler does offer a nice 1 year warranty with an option to upgrade to a 3 year full warranty, Bio Bidet’s basic full warranty is 3 years and you can upgrade to an impressive 6 year full warranty if desired. If you like extra coverage on your purchases, Bio Bidet is the company for you.

Final Thoughts

It’s easy to see that both the Bio Bidet dib-850 and the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 offer some great features. Aside from price, the biggest differences between these seats are the lid features, remote styles and wash details. If you prefer an auto-open lid that will wow guests and a panel style remote, the Kohler Novita BH-90/93 may be for you.  However, if you or a loved one suffers from constipation, or if you could benefit from the added convenience of a sittable lid and user presets, the Bio Bidet dib-850 will probably be your best option.
