Look & Feel
Profile & Color
The Eco NOVA has one of the slimmest, sleekest profiles of any bidet seat we sell, making it both stylish and discreet. However, it only fits elongated toilets and is only available in white.
The Bio Bidet BB-2000 has an average build, so it’s a little bulkier than the Eco NOVA when installed on a toilet. Though it only comes in white, it is available in both round and elongated seat sizes allowing it to fit a wider range of toilets than the Eco NOVA.
Materials
Build quality is another area where the Eco NOVA shines! This hardy bidet is constructed from strong and durable polypropylene plastic, which is a step above the less expensive ABS plastic that’s often used to make bidet seats. The wand and nozzles are stainless steel, a material prized for being sturdier and more hygienic than plastic or aluminum.
The Bio Bidet BB-2000 has a stainless steel wand but its nozzles are made out of plastic. Though plastic is weaker and more porous than stainless steel, the BB-2000’s nozzles come with the added benefit of being easy to replace. If a nozzle becomes clogged or otherwise damage, simply twist it off and pop a new one on.
Wash & Dry Features
Wash Settings
Both the Eco NOVA and Bio Bidet BB-2000 deliver a great bidet wash that’s as comfortable as it is effective.
The Eco NOVA features standard front and rear wash modes plus a stronger “turbo” mode. The water pressure can be adjusted from relatively soft to relatively firm, so there’s something for every bottom. Optional nozzle oscillation moves the wand forward and backward for greater coverage, while the pulse wash soothes tender areas by quickly alternating the temperature between warm and cool.
The BB-2000 offers good water pressure range, as well as nozzle oscillation and a pulse mode. Notably, the BB-2000’s pulse wash varies the water pressure (rather than the temperature) for a relaxing, massaging sensation. In addition to front and rear wash modes, the BB-2000 also comes with an enema function that shoots a thin, strong stream into the rectum to alleviate constipation and stimulate a bowel movement. Because of this, it’s one of our top recommended seats for customers with chronic constipation.
Warm Air Dryer
Both the Eco NOVA and the BB-2000 come with built-in air dryers. This is a great feature to have if you’re trying to minimize your need for toilet paper. It takes most bidet air dryers between 3 and 5 minutes to fully dry the skin, but the Eco NOVA’s air dryer does seem to be one of the more powerful ones on the market, making it one of the faster options.
Deodorizer & Night Light
If you’d like to banish embarrassing bathroom odors, you’re in luck! The Bio Bidet BB-2000 comes with a built-in deodorizer that stops odors before they can take over your bathroom. The deodorizer is chemical-free and scent-free; instead, it uses a fan to draw the air from the bowl through a carbon filter to purify it. Deodorizers can’t eliminate 100% of all odors, but they do reduce them significantly. The Eco NOVA does not come with a deodorizer.
Both the Eco NOVA and the BB-2000 have built-in nightlights that make it easier to traverse the bathroom in the dark. The BB-2000’s night light illuminates the side of the seat while the Eco NOVA’s lights up the bowl.
Some users prefer the design of the Eco NOVA’s night light because it provides more light overall and makes it easier to aim for the bowl in the dark. Both night lights can be set to turn on in low light, or they can be turned off altogether. Because they’re integrated into the seat itself, they’re sleeker than after-market models that clip on to the side of the bowl.
Nozzle Sterilization
When bidet nozzles aren’t actively washing, they stay tucked inside the bidet seat to stay fresh. Plus, all electric bidets rinse their nozzles with clean water before and after each use. Even so, some bidets have additional additional defenses against microbes and mold.
The Eco NOVA offers two sterilizing mechanisms. The first is an antimicrobial, silver-nano coating on the inside of the tubing and nozzles. The second is a UV sterilizing lamp that blasts the nozzles with germ killing, ultraviolet light. Together, these sanitizing features offer the best protection against germs that money can buy.
In comparison, the BB-2000 does not offer nozzle sterilization.
Comfort & Convenience Features
Auto Wash
The Eco NOVA comes with a feature called “auto wash” that kickstarts a very generous 90-second wash followed by a 4 minute dry. The wash settings are pre-determined by Eco NOVA, though you can adjust them during the wash/dry if you’d like.
The biggest benefit to the Eco NOVA’s auto wash feature is that it takes the effort out of getting clean and dry, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for simplicity and ease. Plus, the lengthy wash/dry intervals are long enough to do a thorough job, making this auto wash truly “one button”.
The Bio Bidet BB-2000 also offers an auto wash feature that involves a 30 second wash and a 1 minute dry. This is noticeably shorter wash and dry interval than the Eco NOVA’s auto wash and may be an issue for two reasons:
- First, 30 seconds is an average wash time, but it’s not uncommon to need a longer wash time after messier bowel movements.
- Second, it takes most air dryers 3 to 5 minutes to thoroughly dry the skin’s surface, so the BB-2000’s 1-minute auto dry probably won’t get the job done. This interval isn’t a problem if you’re planning to finish with a toilet-paper pat down, but users who want to avoid toilet paper altogether will have to press the air dryer button to continue drying off once the automatic wash/dry finishes. At that point, you’re pushing multiple buttons to get clean and dry, which defeats the purpose of a “one button auto wash”.
Wireless Remote Control
Both the Eco NOVA and the BB-2000 are controlled with wireless remote controls, but there are some key differences you should know. The BB-2000’s remote uses an infrared signal, which is standard in the bidet world. The downside to infrared remotes are that the signal can be disrupted in bathrooms that are small, dark in color, or have decorative partitions or alcoves.
The Eco NOVA’s remote operates on a radio frequency, which is much more difficult to interrupt compared to an infrared signal. As a result, it’s more reliable than the BB-2000’s remote, particularly in bathrooms that are tight on space or have dark colored walls.
The two remotes are also different in their design. The Eco NOVA’s remote is constructed out of brushed stainless steel with a chic, rose gold finish. It features black, raised buttons on the front and has a great hand feel.
In comparison, the BB-2000’s remote is dual sided and made out of plastic. It features a display screen on the back and is available in white or black.
Both remotes use batteries and have docking stations that can be mounted to the wall to prevent them from being misplaced or dropping in the toilet.
Lid
Like most bidet lids, the Bio Bidet BB-2000’s lid can’t support any extra weight. Sitting on it can cause the lid to crack or damage the electronics located in the back of the seat. In comparison, the Eco NOVA’s lid is specifically designed to bear weight and supports up to 400 pounds, making it one of the strongest lids on the market. The sturdy design allows it to be used as an extra seat in the bathroom, so it’s perfect if you want to sit down to trim toenails, dress or help someone bathe.
Risk Free Trial
A great bonus with the Eco NOVA is its eligibility for our 60-day risk free trial program! This means you can unpack, install and test drive the Eco NOVA and still return it for a full refund any time within the 60-day window. It’s a unique perk, since most bidet seats – including the BB-2000 – can’t be returned after being unpacked.
Final Thoughts
There are plenty of reasons to fall in love with the Eco NOVA and the Bio Bidet BB-2000, but finding your perfect seat depends on your needs.
If you are often constipated, need to fit a round toilet, or want user presets, a deodorizer or easily replaceable nozzles, the BB-2000 will be the best choice. On the other hand, if you want a chic, reliable remote, a generous auto wash, sturdy sittable lid, powerful air dryer and high weight limit, the Eco NOVA is the seat for you!
