It’s hard to beat the brand new TOTO Neroest NX2 when it comes to looks. Featuring seamless, sleek curves and graceful, rounded contours, the Neorest NX2 looks every inch the luxury unit that it is. The TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET is also an attractive unit but has a more angular look and isn’t quite as sophisticated as the Neorest NX2. That said, the Neorest G400 is one of the few TOTO integrated units that’s available in both white and beige, making it a great option for users who need an off-white unit.
EWATER+ is electrolyzed water with sanitizing properties that is used by many TOTO units to PREMIST the bowl and cleanse the bowl and nozzles after each use for optimal unit hygiene. While the TOTO Neorest NX2 has EWATER+, the TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET doesn’t. The G400 does PREMIST the bowl before use and cleanses the nozzles after use, but it uses ordinary, non-electrolyzed water to do so.
In addition to utilizing EWATER+, the TOTO Neorest NX2 features state-of-the-art self-cleaning technology called Actilight, which uses UV light to break own residual waste particles in the bowl, thus cleaning and sanitizing the bowl without the use of harsh chemicals. The TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET doesn’t have Actilight, so cleaning the unit requires good, old-fashioned elbow-grease.
The great news is that both the TOTO Neorest NX2 and the TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET feature warm wash water for maximum comfort. The primary difference in this category is how each unit heats the water. The TOTO Neorest NX2 has what’s called an instant water heating system, which instantaneously heats the water without any lag time. This means you’ll have unlimited warm water for washing and won’t run out no matter how much you use. The TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET, on the other hand, has a tank water heating system, meaning that it keeps a reservoir of warm water on hand for washing. When the warm water reservoir is depleted, the unit switches to using cool water until it has a chance to refill, a process that takes a few minutes in all.
The TOTO Neorest NX2 offers a “wide front cleanse” option in addition to the traditional “front cleanse” for maximum coverage. It’s specifically designed for female use, ensuring comprehensive cleaning. The TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET has a “front cleanse” option but doesn’t offer the “wide front cleanse” variation.
The TOTO Neorest NX2 is designed with user convenience in mind, down to even the smallest details. One such detail is the built-in night-light, which illuminates the bowl with a soft glow and makes using the restroom at night safer, easier and more pleasant overall. After all, no one likes stumbling to the bathroom in the dark, falling into the toilet, or being blinded by the overhead light–all of which can make it harder to fall back asleep. The TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET doesn’t have a built-in nightlight, but it’s always possible to purchase and self-install an market night light. It won’t look quite as streamlined as the built-in kind but will function just as well and is available in a variety of colors.
Though the TOTO Neorest NX2 and the TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET both have the same basic components, the NX2’s bowl, seat and flushing system have been redesigned to give them the edge over previous models like the G400. When it comes to a unit’s seat, comfort is everything, and the stability and support offered by the Neorest NX2’s new and improved seat can’t be beat. In addition, the NX2’s rimless bowl makes cleaning painless and gives dirt and germs no place to hide. Next, the NX2’s reconfigured Tornado Flush System is now able to target the most difficult-to-reach areas of the bowl, where residue is most likely to stick. Last but not least, the Neorest NX2’s flush is pump assisted, making it more powerful than gravity assisted flush models like the one on the TOTO G400. Taken together, these improvements to the TOTO Neorest NX2’s basic design set it apart from its competition.
The TOTO Neorest NX2 is the clear winner when it comes to looks and features. It’s instant water heating system, wide front cleanse wash option, built-in nightlight, EWATER+, self-cleaning Actilight system, and improvements to its bowl, rim and flush system, truly maximize comfort, convenience and hygiene. Even without these features, the TOTO G400 Toilet and WASHLET brings a lot to the table and is a great option for those looking to spend less or who need a beige unit.
