Look & Feel
The design of the TOTO Neorest NX2 takes sophistication to a whole new level with its sleek curves and smooth, seamless surfaces. The Neorest AH has a more angular look and isn’t quite as sleek, but it does come in both white and beige, whereas the NX2 only comes in white.
Quality of Build
The TOTO brand is synonymous with long-lasting, quality products, and this certainly holds true for all of its integrated units. However, there are different tiers of quality when it comes to the various materials used to construct their units, and this is an area that sets the the NX2 apart from the AH. More specifically, the Neorest NX2 is constructed primarily out of porcelain, which is widely considered to be the best material out there for toilet construction. In comparison, the Neorest AH is crafted from both plastic and porcelain, and the amount of plastic components is distinctly higher in the AH than in the NX2. While both units should last a good long time, it’s important to know how they differ in terms of construction materials.
Bowl & Seat
The Neorest AH features a traditional rimmed bowl, which has a ridge that users much reach underneath to clean. In contrast, the upper edge of the Neorest NX2’s bowl is smooth from top to bottom, known as a rimless bowl. This rimless design reduces the accumulation of dirt and grime and is easier to clean than a rimmed bowl. In addition, the Neorest NX2 has a new and improved seat that’s designed to promote optimum comfort and stability.
Flushing System
A good flushing system is key, and the Neorest NX2 comes with a redesigned version of TOTO’s signature Tornado Flush System. This new and improved flush system funnels water through the bowl using an innovative design that provides an even more thorough, effective flush than before.
Self-Cleaning Technology
The Neorest NX2 is one of a very few elite units that are equipped with TOTO’s Actilight self-cleaning technology. The Actilight system uses a combination of electrolyzed water (TOTO’s EWATER+), UV light and naturally occurring oxygen in the air to decimate bacteria and break down residue. While the Neorest AH uses sterile, EWATER+ to rinse the nozzles after each use, it doesn’t come with the Actilight system.
Summary
There are great benefits to both the Neorest AH and the Neorest NX2. The Neorest AH is a relatively budget-friendly choice and comes in both white and beige, making it an especially great option for those needing an off-white unit. On the other hand, the Neorest NX2 comes with all the bells and whistles and then some! Its ultra-modern silhouette, Actilight self-cleaning system, and upgraded seat, bowl and flushing system set it head and shoulders above most other integrated units. In the end, your family’s needs and budget will be the best way to decide which unit is right for you.
