Look & Feel

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it’s easy to see that there’s a big difference between the design of the TOTO Neorest NX2 and the Neorest RH. Both have a rounded look, but the Neorest NX2 has ultra-sleek proportions and a seamless silhouette, while the Neorest RH has some visible seams and isn’t quite as streamlined. It’s also important to note that the Neorest NX2 only comes in white whereas the Neorest RH is available in both white and beige.

Craftsmanship

TOTO takes craftsmanship seriously, so you’ll be getting a high-quality unit regardless of which unit you ultimately choose. That said, there are some differences between the Neorest NX2 and the Neorest RH when it comes to the materials used in their construction. The Neorest NX2 is crafted almost entirely out of porcelain, whereas the Neorest AH has a higher percentage of plastic parts. Porcelain is a higher-end material than plastic, so in this sense the Neorest NX2 comes out ahead in terms of craftsmanship.

Bowl & Seat

TOTO is constantly making good products even better, and the Neorest NX2 is a prime example of this as it features a rimless bowl and an redesigned toilet seat. The rimless bowl eliminates the “lip”, or overhang, created by the rimmed edge of most toilets, including the Neorest AH. This means that rim of the bowl is vertically flat, giving dirt and grime no place to hide and making it easier to  wipe clean. The seat on the NX2 has also been upgraded and it now offers even more stability than previous models.

Flushing System

TOTO even redesigned its Tornado Flush System for the Neorest NX2, with the net result being that the NX2’s flush is more powerful and effective than ever before. The reconfigured design allows the flush to forcefully sweep through areas of the bowl that often accumulate residue, thus helping keep the unit clean and fresh. In comparison, the Neorest AH comes with TOTO’s traditional Tornado Flush System.

Actilight Technology

The Neorest NX2 takes unit hygiene to the next level thanks to its Actilight Technology. This state-of-the-art, self-cleaning system uses sterile EWATER+ (electrolyzed water), oxygen from the air, and UV light to break down residue and kill bacteria. The Neorest AH doesn’t come with the Actilight system, though it does use EWATER+ to sterilize the wand and nozzles after each use.

Summary

It’s nearly impossible for any integrated unit on the market to beat TOTO’s feature packed Neorest NX2. Not only does the NX2 offer every high-end feature available, it’s most basic elements have been redesigned for maximum comfort and performance, and it looks great too. If you’re looking to forego some of the luxury features in favor of a lower price or you simply need an off-white unit, the Neorest AH is a good option to consider.
