Everything You Need to Know About Brondell Bidets

Written By Hannah Ramsey | Created July 31, 2020 | Updated September 9, 2024

Brondell is a privately held company founded in 2003 that specializes in bidet toilet seats, air purifiers, and water filtration systems. The company is backed by David Samuel and by Mark Cuban, the entrepreneur investor from the hit TV show Shark Tank. In addition to offering top notch products, Brondell also offers state side support and warranty services.

A leader in the bidet industry, Brondell offers high quality, affordable and eco-friendly products without sacrificing comfort or style. For example, most Brondell bidet seats have quality stainless steel nozzles without the high-end price tag usually associated with this feature. Additionally, most Brondell seats offer an energy saving instant water heating system, also known as a “tankless” water heater. This saves energy and provides an exceptionally comfortable cleanse.

Over the years, Brondell has won multiple awards for their Swash bidet line. In 2007, Brondell received the American Building Products Award, and in 2011, the Swash product line won Electronic House Magazine’s Product of the Year Award. These and other awards speak to the quality and superior design of Brondell bidets.

3 Reasons to Buy a Brondell Bidet Seat

If you’ve been searching for the perfect bidet toilet seat, the Brondell brand may already be on your radar. Here are the top three reasons a Brondell bidet might be right for you:

  1. Brondell’s support, parts, and warehouse are all based in the United States, and we’ve found that Brondell replies promptly to concerns and warranty claims via email and live chat. As a result, you won’t need to worry about getting a Brondell seat fixed quickly if something goes south. This customer focused approach to doing business is a key reason you might decide to purchase a Brondell seat.
  2. Brondell bidets are feature heavy but won’t break the bank. The competitive pricing alone makes Brondell one of the top selling brands on our site. Even the less expensive bidets are packed with popular features, making them great value for the price.
  3. Many Brondell bidets come in both round and elongated seat sizes, so it’s easy to fit your existing toilet. Some also come in white and beige or offer extended warranty options. This versatility is yet another reason you might choose Brondell.

3 Common Complaints About Brondell Bidet Seats

As a seller of Brondell bidet seats, we see everything, and most of our Brondell transactions are problem-free. And although Brondell does a great job with their Swash bidet seat line, no company is perfect. We want to share some of the problems we have seen over the years so you can make an informed bidet purchase.

  1. Brondell states that the Swash bidet lids can be used as a seat, which is rare in the bidet world. This is because the hardware in the back of a bidet seat makes it hard to design a lid that curves off the back enough for it to be sat on without damaging the electronics. However, some of Brondell’s “sittable lids” have a fairly low weight limit, which may make sitting on them a no-go for many adults.

Additionally, many customers have had problems getting the Brondell warranty to cover lid breakage. Though this warranty exception isn’t stated anywhere that we’ve been able to find, Brondell will not replace the lid if it cracks. We’ve had zero issues with Brondell covering other breaks and cracks with their seats, but if the lid cracks, you’ll have to pay out of pocket for a replacement.
  2. When it comes to seat size, we tend to get more complaints about the size and design of Brondell bidet seats compared to other brands. Some customers say the seat is too small or report feeling as if they’re being pushed forward.

If you check our reviews, you can see we have a lot of customers who LOVE the Brondell Swash 1400 and don’t have an issue with the seat. However, if you’re looking for a large or super comfy seat, the Swash line might not be your best option.
  3. In general, Brondell’s bidet seats tend to have a softer wash stream compared to other seats on the market, which means that it can take a bit longer to get totally clean. Plenty of customers are unbothered by a gentle wash stream, but some prefer a firm bidet wash. If you’re in the latter group, a Brondell seat might not be for you.
