What is a bidet toilet seat?

Bidet seats replace your current toilet seat and have built-in bidet functions that clean you with a stream of water. Electric bidet seats plug into the wall and offer lots of features that make the wash more comfortable and effective. These can include a heated seat, adjustable water pressure and temperature, adjustable nozzle position, multiple wash modes, pulsing and oscillating spray settings, warm air drying, a night light and more. Electric bidets are controlled with buttons located on a remote control or side arm control panel.

Are electric bidet toilet seats sanitary?

Yes. Electric bidets are an extremely hygienic choice for personal cleansing because they remove waste with water, which is more effective than toilet paper. Additionally, bidets reduce the risk of irritation and the spread of bacteria.

Electric bidets maintain their cleanliness between uses in a number of ways:

1. Self-cleaning nozzles: Electric bidet seats feature self-cleaning nozzles that sterilize themselves before and after use, reducing the risk of bacterial buildup. When not in use, electric bidet nozzles are stored inside the bidet to protect them from becoming contaminated while users go to the bathroom.
2. Antimicrobial materials: Many electric bidet seats have an antimicrobial coating that inhibits the growth of bacteria and maintains a sanitary surface. Some bidets have special antibacterial nozzle coatings or feature stainless steel nozzles that are unlikely to become contaminated because of stainless steel’s non-porous nature.
3. Sterilizing systems: Certain bidet seats are equipped with sterilizing mechanisms that use silver nano particles, UV light or other technologies to kill germs and ensure a hygienic environment.

How do electric bidet seats work?

Electric bidet seats are powered by, you guessed it, electricity! That means you’ll need a GFCI plug in your bathroom, preferably within 4 feet of the toilet, since that’s the length of the average bidet seat cord. You can use an extension cord, the lower the gauge the better. For safety, keep the extension cord elevated off the floor where it joins with the bidet seat cord, and you’ll be golden!

How do you install a bidet toilet seat?

Installing an electric bidet seat is quick and easy, usually taking less than 30 minutes. The best news is that you don’t need any specialized tools or expertise – just a screwdriver and the parts that came with your bidet. All of our electric bidet toilet seats come with a detailed installation guide that walks you through the process from start to finish, but here’s a general outline of the process:

1. Turn off the toilet’s water, then flush it to drain the water from the tank
2. Remove your current toilet seat
3. Install the bidet’s mounting plate & slide the bidet seat on until you hear it click in place
4. Unscrew the toilet’s water supply hose from the tank & install the t-valve (included) in its place. Connect the toilet’s water supply hose to the bottom of the t-valve. Connect one end of the bidet hose (included in the bidet box) to the side of the t-valve, and connect the other end to the opening on the side of the bidet.
5. Plug the bidet into a GFCI outlet & turn the toilet’s water supply back on. Presto, you’re ready to get clean!

How do you use a bidet toilet seat?

Using an electric bidet toilet seat is super simple! Just sit down on the toilet as you normally would and go to the bathroom. When you’re done, activate the bidet functions using the buttons on the bidet seat’s remote or control panel. What’s the difference between a WASHLET and a bidet toilet seat?

Nothing! There is no difference between a washlet and a bidet toilet seat; they are one and the same. “WASHLET” is simply a trademarked term that the Japanese company TOTO uses to refer to their bidet seats.
