Looking for the best bidets of 2026? Look no further! With more than 12 years of experience helping customers find the perfect bidet, we’ve got an insider look at everything from which features customers love to what manufacturers provide the best after purchase support.

This year, we’ve tested dozens of bidets to help you find the perfect bathroom upgrade. Curious how we choose our best bidet seats, or wondering why one of your favorite brands didn’t make the list? Keep reading for all the details on our testing and selection process. New to the world of bidets? Check out our tips for first-time bidet buyers.

Our Top 5 Bidet Seats

How We Choose Our Best Bidets

Our number-one priority is helping you find the perfect bidet to enhance your health and well-being. To arm you with all the facts you need to make an informed decision, we test dozens of bidets – and evaluate some criteria you might not see on other top lists.

Our Testing Process

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution with bidets, so when it comes to testing, it’s all hands on deck. Our staff members install the bidets in their own homes, and they – and their family members and guests – use them day after day. We also perform extensive testing in our bidet showroom. There, our dedicated team assesses all the elements of each bidet seat, including:

  • Wash Pressure: We look at the volume and width of the spray, as well as the range of pressures the seat provides. We also evaluate the “real feel” of the water to see if the spray is too sharp, too soft or just right.
  • Temperature Ranges: We test the temperature of the water to provide an apples-to-apples comparison of the range offered by each seat. Plus, we use a heatmap to evaluate the effectiveness of the heated seat and identify any hot or cold spots.
  • Remote Features: The bidets on our list use wireless remote controls as the primary method for controlling the functions. We test everything from ease of use to the layout and readability of buttons. We also check if the remote uses a radio frequency or infrared signal to communicate with the seat so we know how reliably the remote will work in different spaces.
  • Build Quality: Cheaper plastics may reduce the overall cost of a bidet seat, but they’re also much more likely to crack or break over time – even with light use. We carefully review the type of material used to construct the bidet, as well as the quality of the internals and any added sterilization features. We also check the weight limit and whether or not the lid can support an average adult.

All of this means we give you the whole picture, so you know what to expect before you add a bidet seat to your cart – or your bathroom.

How We Pick the Best

While features and quality weigh heavily in our rankings, they’re not the only factors we consider. We use these bidets long-term to evaluate their performance and durability over time and give you the inside scoop on the little details we come to love – or the ones that drive us crazy. Plus, we take you into account: Our 12+ years of experience selling more than 20,000 bidets means we have tons of customer feedback on both the bidets and brands. If we find a great bidet seat but the manufacturer consistently delivers poor customer support, it won’t earn a spot on our list.

Why You Can Trust Our Picks

Our team is one of the most knowledgeable in the industry. We strive to educate the world about bidets so everyone can boost their health and well-being. Having hands-on experience with every bidet we sell means we’re uniquely equipped to provide personalized recommendations and troubleshoot problems.

We’re constantly updating our recommendations. Our team members continue to test old favorites and new additions to the bidet market, and we get feedback from our customers every day. If one of our top picks lets us down, we’ll give you all the details and help you find an option you’re sure to love.

You’ll always get our honest, transparent opinions. We don’t accept paid reviews or compensation for testing a product or including it on our list. If a popular bidet misses the mark, we’ll tell you why! And while we always seek customer feedback, we never ask for glowing reviews in exchange for discounts or any other incentives.

Our Best Bidet Seats of 2026

Eco NOVA

Best Bidet For Your Buck

The Eco NOVA combines sleek design with a broad feature set and outstanding reliability. This customer favorite delivers a thorough cleanse and standout perks.

$699.00 – $798.00
Eco NOVA Bidet Seat

This customer favorite once again claims the top spot – and keeps its title of “Best Bidet for Your Buck”. The Eco NOVA bidet seat delivers luxury features at an exceptional value. Our testers and customers alike said the Eco NOVA is one of the most comfortable seats they’ve tried (and with a 180-day risk free trial, they had plenty of time to evaluate it!). The Eco NOVA also has the lowest return rate of any seat we sell, with exceptional durability and a solid pressure range. But some users reported that the wash pressure was a bit too strong for them, particularly on the front wash, and there wasn’t as much opportunity for customization as some of the higher-end options. Overall, the Eco NOVA strikes a great balance of style, performance and affordability, earning our vote as the bidet seat with the most value for the money.

PROS CONS
Durable construction supports up to 400 pounds (seat and sittable lid) Sharper spray may be too intense for some users, especially on the front wash
Hygienic stainless steel remote uses an ultra-reliable radio frequency signal Adjustable settings have less range compared to more expensive bidets
Dual sterilization system sanitizes the internals and nozzle with silver nano and UV light Available in elongated white only – not a fit for round or beige toilets
Industry-leading customer service with a 4-year full warranty and 180-day risk-free trial Rose gold remote finish might not work with all decors
The lowest warranty claim and return rate of any bidet seat we’ve ever sold Does not have user presets

TOTO S7A WASHLET

Best Luxury Bidet Seat

The S7A’s innovative technology and convenience features upgrade your bathroom routine. It also boasts the best nozzle reach and pressure range.

$1,343.00 – $1,543.00
TOTO S7A WASHLET

Boasting some impressive innovations and customization options, the TOTO S7A WASHLET claims our “Best Luxury Bidet” title this year. TOTO’s EWATER+ and PREMIST technology keep the nozzles and toilet bowl effortlessly clean, and the lid and seat both automatically open and close. Plus, the S7A provides a ton of control over the wash with lots of adjustment levels and the best nozzle reach available. The downside of all that customization is a complicated remote that pushes some frequently used buttons to the back. But if you can get through the complex setup, the S7A’s four user presets provide easy access to a truly tailored bidet routine. The S7A also has options for just about every bathroom with different size, color and trim selections, but some customers reported that the seat feels small and cramped, especially for larger users, and you can’t sit on the lid. If those aren’t dealbreakers, the S7A offers a premium bidet experience with impressive technology and performance.

PROS CONS
Telescoping nozzle offers the best reach of any bidet on the market Seat is less roomy and comfortable than the Ultra NOVA
Four wash modes – rear, soft rear, front and wide front – provide excellent coverage Rear wash shifts from medium to very firm pressure after a few seconds, requiring manual adjustment
Wide range of settings allows for unmatched customization, with four user presets that store your settings for easy operation Remote control is complicated, feels lower quality and doesn’t have a radio frequency signal
Automatic opening and closing options control both the seat and lid The only bidet on our list without a sittable lid – using the lid as a seat may cause cracking
EWATER+ and PREMIST sterilize the nozzles and keep the toilet bowl cleaner Installation manual is unnecessarily complicated (we can help!)
Versatile design has options for elongated or round bowls, beige or white toilets and classic or contemporary styles 2-year limited warranty is the shortest of all our top picks

Infinity Eaze z3

Best Accessibility

A roomy seat, high weight limit, wide range of wash options and easy-to-use controls make the Infinity Eaze z3 an ideal bidet for every body.

$899.00

Designed with accessibility in mind, the Infinity Eaze z3 is easy to operate with a large remote and clearly labeled buttons. The straightforward remote, combined with a user-friendly one-button auto wash feature, makes it a great choice for those with mobility or cognitive challenges. It also delivers one of our testers’ favorite wash experiences: The gentle wash is ideal for postpartum care, while the higher pressure settings provide a fuss-free, complete clean without being uncomfortable. Although bulkier than other bidets on our list, the Eaze z3 sports a spacious seat and sittable lid that can safely support 350 pounds. However, it may not be the best option for large individuals who require more space – especially in the round seat size. Fortunately, the 60-day risk-free trial provides plenty of opportunity to make sure it’s the right fit.

PROS CONS
Ultra-comfortable seat and lid provide a broad, stable sitting space with a 350-pound weight limit Silhouette is less streamlined than other options
Wash settings allow for total customization or simple operation with the auto-wash function Remote control uses an infrared signal (but has a second receiver for dependable operation)
Fully accessible remote control can be easily operated by users with vision or dexterity challenges Does not have user presets
Available in round and elongated seat sizes and fits on most toilets, including many with French curves Comes in white only – no option for beige toilets
Comes with a 4-year full warranty, 60-day risk-free trial and stellar customer support

Ultra NOVA

Most Comfortable Bidet Seat

With the slimmest profile on the market, the Ultra NOVA blends effortlessly with your decor. Pamper yourself with premium features and an ultra-comfortable seat.

$1,299.00 – $1,398.00
Ultra NOVA Bidet Seat

Building on the NOVA brand’s premium features and stellar customer service, the Ultra NOVA delivers an outstanding user experience and earns the “Most Comfortable” title. Offering one of the lowest profiles on the market and a broad, flat seating area, it earned rave reviews from customers and testers alike for its comfort factor. In addition to sleekness, the Ultra NOVA comes packed with high-end features like an automatically opening and closing lid, refreshing hot/cold massage function and a unique enema wash that relieves constipation with no mess or discomfort. Previous versions of the Ultra NOVA came with some disappointing reliability issues, particularly with the lid motor. Fortunately, the NOVA brand was proactive in addressing these concerns and have upgraded these parts on the current model. We expect the new versions of the Ultra NOVA to impress us even more in the coming year and deliver top-notch comfort and performance.

Jump to our detailed Ultra NOVA review

PROS CONS
Lowest profile available for a high-end, discreet look Available in elongated white only – not a fit for round or beige toilets
Spacious, ultra-comfortable seat has a sittable lid that supports 400 pounds Broad seat may be difficult for small children to use
Stainless steel bar-style remote has two user presets and uses a dependable radio frequency signal Functions have less adjustability than the TOTO S7A WASHLET
Enema wash offers a comfortable, mess-free alternative to traditional enemas while hot/cold pulse mode soothes sensitive areas No option to automatically raise and lower the seat
Comes with a 3-year full warranty, the best customer service in the industry and a 60-day risk-free trial Reliability issues with last production run, although current batch has been upgraded

Brondell Swash 1400

Best Soft Wash

The Swash 1400’s standout soft wash soothes painful hemorrhoids, fissures or other sensitivity issues. Multiple spray widths provide a wider coverage area.

$669.99 – $798.00

If you’re looking for soothing comfort, the Brondell Swash 1400 has the gentlest wash we’ve ever experienced. It provides a thorough, hygienic clean while relieving pain, irritation and sensitivity. This soft wash is complemented by the Swash 1400’s adjustable spray width, a standout feature that cleans a broad area without any shifting around. However, our testers found that the wash still felt very light even on the highest pressure setting – possibly too light for some users. Plus, at almost 6 inches high in the back, it’s one of the bulkier seats we tested, and its smaller seat makes it feel more cramped than the competition. But for those who need a soothing spray, the Swash 1400 provides the perfect wash along with intuitive controls and size and color options to fit most bathrooms.

Jump to our detailed Brondell Swash 1400 review

PROS CONS
Super-gentle wash is perfect for sensitivity Wash pressure doesn’t go very high, so it may be too soft for users without sensitivity
Offers adjustable spray widths – from narrow to wide – for excellent wash coverage Seat feels smaller and more cramped than other bidets
Remote control is laid out well for user-friendly operation and includes two user presets Plastic remote feels a little cheap and uses a less-reliable infrared signal
Sittable lid supports up to 270 pounds ABS plastic construction is less durable and we’ve had several reports of the lid cracking
Silver nano sterilizing system keeps the wash water and nozzles clean 3-year limited warranty is less robust than the competition (but extended warranty options are available)
Comes in round or elongated seat sizes and white or biscuit colors to work with most bathrooms

Top 5 Bidet Seats Quick Comparison

Honorable Mentions

Before we get into the detailed reviews of our top picks, here are a few honorable mentions that almost made the cut. While they didn’t make our Top 5 list this year, they’re still solid seats that are worth considering.

TOTO S5 WASHLET

The TOTO S5 WASHLET is newer to market, so we haven’t had as much time to collect feedback from our customers and testers on its performance. It comes in at a much lower price point than the TOTO S7A, but it’s missing a few key features, like the front wide wash and automatic opening. And while we’re big fans of the instant water heater (a major upgrade over the previous C5 WASHLET) and PREMIST, the overall silhouette of the seat is bulky and far less comfortable than TOTO’s higher-end models.

Kohler PureWash E880 (K-30805)

We loved the 3D Wash feature on the Kohler PureWash E880. This unique feature rotates the nozzle from side to side and back and forth during the wash, and this is the only bidet seat we’ve found that has it. However, while it has a good variety of settings, some of the functions (like the mist) weren’t particularly effective. Since it’s not a seat we currently sell, we don’t have much feedback from customers on how it performs long-term, but we still felt that it deserved a place in our honorable mentions.

TUSHY Aura

You probably know TUSHY for their non-electric attachments, but the TUSHY Aura is an electric bidet seat that comes in at a great price point. It has a good range of features, but during testing we noticed that the front wash tended to cut out, making it less comfortable and effective. We also just started selling this seat in late 2025, so we don’t have a lot of customer feedback yet. If this seat ends up earning a spot in our Top 5 next year, we’ll be sure to update you!

Brondell Thinline T44

The Brondell Thinline T44 has excellent pressure – it even took our title of Best Strong Wash in 2025 – but there were a few things that kept it out of our Top 5 this year. Most importantly, many of our testers experienced issues with the lid staying up when opened: The sharp angle of the lid often bumped up against the toilet tank, preventing it from opening to a full 90 degrees. But its powerful spray – along with the availability of a unique, ADA-compliant T22 commercial version compatible with flushometer toilets – convinced us to keep it in our honorable mentions.

In-Depth Bidet Reviews

Best Bidet for Your Buck: Eco NOVA

Eco NOVA Bidet Seat
Eco NOVA Bidet Seat
4.9 / 5.0 | (39 reviews)
$699.00 – $798.00
$699.00

With glowing reviews from customers and Many Bidets staff, the Eco NOVA sets a new benchmark for bathroom convenience without breaking the bank. It covers the main electric bidet bases (and does them well): a heated seat, unlimited warm wash water, front and rear washing, a broad range of water pressures and a strong warm air dryer. But the Eco NOVA also boasts some extras that raise it to the top of our rankings. It doesn’t have all the premium features you’ll find on the more expensive luxury bidets on our list, but for the price, we don’t think you’ll miss them too much.

The Eco NOVA delivers a super-thorough cleanse – and some unique bonuses. It has a generous 0.24 gallon-per-minute spray for exceptional wash efficiency. You can easily tailor the water pressure, temperature and nozzle position to your specifications. Plus, nozzle oscillation kicks in with one button press, moving the wand forward and backward for enhanced coverage and relaxation. One of the Eco NOVA’s standouts is a unique hot/cold pulse function that rhythmically switches the water between warm and cool – a feature our testers called “exceptionally refreshing.” It even has a convenient auto wash function that starts a 90-second rear wash followed by a four-minute dry.

Animated GIF of the Eco NOVA’s rear wash
The Eco NOVA’s rear wash is one of the most effective we’ve ever tested.

All the functions are stylishly, intuitively and reliably controlled. Finished in hygienic stainless steel, the Eco NOVA’s remote feels higher-end than many luxury remotes. The buttons use simple wording, and colored LED lights display the different temperature levels. Water pressure and nozzle position adjust using separate up and down buttons, so you don’t have to toggle through all the levels to get back to the beginning. The Eco NOVA’s remote also uses an extremely reliable radio frequency signal (as opposed to infrared, which can malfunction in cramped or dark spaces). You can even control the bidet from outside the bathroom, so it’s great for caregivers helping a loved one get clean.

The Eco NOVA remote control wall-mounted next to a light switch
With its clearly labeled buttons, the Eco NOVA’s remote makes it easy to select the right settings.

The rest of the Eco NOVA’s construction is just as high-quality as the remote. It’s built from heavy-duty polypropylene and supports up to 400 pounds, making it one of the strongest bidet seats available. It also has a “sittable” lid, so you can use it as a seat without worrying about damaging the bidet components. And the sturdiness doesn’t come at the expense of style. At just 4.3 inches tall in the back, it’s not the slimmest seat out there (that honor goes to the Ultra NOVA), but it’s definitely streamlined enough to blend into any bathroom.

Side profile of the Eco NOVA bidet seat
The Eco NOVA is sleek but strong with a minimalist profile and sittable lid with a 400-pound weight limit.

Every Eco NOVA comes with added peace of mind. Its dual sterilization system uses an antimicrobial silver nano coating to sanitize the tubing and wash water and ultraviolet (UV) light to eliminate harmful bacteria from the nozzle. The Eco NOVA is also one of the few bidets with a backflow preventer (aka vacuum breaker). Backflow preventers ensure that the water in your bidet won’t contaminate the public water supply if your home’s water pressure drops. (Backflow preventers are also required in some states, so get in touch to find out if you need one.) And while it’s the most reliable seat we’ve ever sold, the Eco NOVA is covered by a four-year full warranty if anything does go wrong. It even comes with a 180-day risk-free trial so you can try it in your own home and return it for any reason if it doesn’t meet your needs.

While the Eco NOVA is our pick for best bidet, it’s not absolutely perfect. Its adjustable settings have fewer levels than seats like the Infinity Eaze z3 and TOTO S7A, and our testers reported that the spray felt a little “sharper.” Plus, our female testers said that the front wash was nearly too strong, even on the lowest pressure. The Eco NOVA also isn’t a perfect fit for every bathroom setup: it only comes in an elongated seat size and white finish. And though our testers loved just about everything about the remote, some of our customers said the rose gold remote clashed with their other finishes.

Best Luxury Bidet Seat: TOTO S7A WASHLET

Toto S7A Bidet Seat
TOTO S7A WASHLET
5.0 / 5.0 | (3 reviews)
$1,343.00 – $1,543.00
$1,343.00

The TOTO S7A WASHLET takes luxury bidet features up a notch with the ability to fine-tune every aspect of your cleansing routine. It has a few shortcomings, but if you love tinkering with technology and have a clear vision for the experience you want to create, you’ll love the S7A’s flexibility.

The S7A’s four wash modes and high adjustability give you tons of control. It has rear, soft rear, front and wide front options, plus nozzle oscillation and pulse spray to offer a wide range of wash feels. Each wash can be fully customized with five levels for the nozzle position, water temperature, water pressure, seat temperature and air dryer temperature. The telescoping nozzle gives the S7A the most reach of any bidet on the market and delivers one of the best front washes we’ve ever experienced. And once you’ve dialed in your ideal settings, you can save your preferences in one of four user presets.

The TOTO S7A has a telescoping nozzle that gives it industry-leading reach.

TOTO’s technology makes using the S7A extremely convenient and hygienic. Like the Ultra NOVA, the S7A’s lid automatically opens and closes. But it goes a step further with a seat that raises and lowers at the touch of a button. EWATER+ sterilizes the wand, nozzles and toilet bowl with electrolyzed water before and after each use. Plus, the PREMIST feature coats the toilet bowl with a thin film of water when you sit down to stop waste from sticking. To give PREMIST a run for its money, one of our testers intentionally installed the S7A in a high-traffic bathroom. They found it needed to be cleaned much less often than all other toilets in the house – despite getting the most use.

Animated GIF of the TOTO S7A WASHLET's automated seat opening and closing feature
Raise and lower the S7A’s seat with one button press for hands-free convenience.

The S7A’s style options fit almost any bathroom. It has versions to fit both elongated and round toilet bowls and comes in Cotton or Sedona Beige (TOTO’s fancy way of saying white or beige). The S7A also has classic and contemporary trim styles. The classic option has a beveled edge around the lid, while the contemporary version features a smooth, modern profile. For an even cleaner look, the S7A can be paired with a WASHLET+ compatible toilet for a seamless installation that conceals the cords and hoses. You’ll also get automatic flushing with the WASHLET+ setup.

Image comparing the TOTO S7A WASHLET's classic and contemporary trim options and white and beige color choices
The S7A’s versatile design fits most spaces, with white and beige options and classic (top) and contemporary (bottom) trim styles. It’s also available in both elongated and round.

But we don’t love the S7A’s remote control design. The plastic construction feels cheaper than it should for such a high-end bidet, and it uses an infrared signal. The buttons aren’t labeled, so you have to decipher the icons to figure out what they do. Plus, the buttons to adjust the water, seat and dryer temperature are located on the back, so adjusting them requires you to take the remote out of the holder and flip it around. One of our testers noted that her family adjusts these settings frequently, and having to remove the remote every time they wanted to tweak the settings quickly became a hassle.

Side-by-side view of the front and back of the TOTO S7A WASHLET remote control
The S7A doesn’t feel as luxe as it should for such a premium bidet. Its dual-sided remote also puts some commonly used buttons on the back and has blank buttons that serve no purpose.

The S7A also falls a bit short when it comes to comfort and coverage. The seat feels small and cramped, especially when compared to the Ultra NOVA. The S7A is also the only one of our top picks without a sittable lid – if you sit on it, you risk cracking the lid or seat. Finally, the S7A’s two-year limited warranty offers the least protection of any bidet on our list – along with the highest price tag.

Best Accessible Bidet Seat: Infinity Eaze z3

Infinity Eaze z3
$899.00 – $998.00
$899.00

The updated version of the customer-favorite Cascade 3000, the Infinity Eaze z3 is the most accessible bidet out there. It was created in concert with Certified Aging in Place Specialists to support aging in place and individuals with mobility challenges or disabilities. But it’s also a great choice for anyone seeking a comfortable, complete clean. Best of all, the Eaze z3 comes with a four-year full warranty and 60-day risk-free trial.

The wide variety of wash options make the Eaze z3 a crowd-pleasing bidet. The water pressure is highly adjustable, taking the wash from gentle to very firm with just a few button presses. Our team consistently raves about the overall wash quality, and our testers who were new moms found the spray particularly soothing for postpartum care. The Eaze z3 is also one of the few bidets with a one-touch auto-wash feature, which starts a 60-second oscillating rear wash followed by a three-minute dry. And the focus on cleanliness doesn’t end with the wash: The bidet’s interior tubing and nozzles are coated in a silver nano solution that prevents microbial growth.

Designed with accessibility in mind, the Eaze z3 is incredibly easy to use. It comes with a large panel-style remote with raised, color-coded buttons. The size of the buttons means they can easily be pressed with feet, elbows or other body parts. The labels use a large font, and the adjustment options are clear thanks to simple up/down and plus/minus buttons. It’s also one of the few bidets that lets you turn off the seat sensor – a huge plus for smaller users or those who need supportive props.

The Eaze z3’s large remote option offers an accessible option for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities.

Even many hard-to-fit toilets work with the Eaze z3. It’s compatible with both one- and two-piece toilets. And, unlike most bidet seats, the Infinity Eaze z3 fits many French curve toilets. It even works with some RV toilets. Round and elongated models are available to accommodate different toilet styles. However, the Eaze z3 doesn’t have a beige option. If you need to match a beige toilet, check out the TOTO S7A or Brondell Swash 1400.

There’s room for improvement with the Eaze z3’s style and remote control. Measuring 6.2 inches tall at the back, it’s the chunkiest bidet on our list. It’s still more comfortable than a lot of the competition and comes with a 350-pound weight limit, but it’s not as sleek as our other picks. And while it has a second infrared receiver built into the seat to boost reliability, the remote can’t be used from another room like those with radio frequency signals. Finally, the Infinity Eaze z3 doesn’t have any user presets.

The Eaze z3 is narrow enough at the back to fit most French curve toilets.

Most Comfortable Bidet Seat: Ultra NOVA

Ultra Nova Bidet Seat
Ultra NOVA Bidet Seat
5.0 / 5.0 | (13 reviews)
$1,299.00 – $1,398.00
$1,299.00

If you’re looking for some of the high-end functions the Eco NOVA doesn’t have and don’t mind spending a bit more, we love the Ultra NOVA. Since it’s part of the NOVA brand, you’ll get the same great quality, support and risk-free trial, plus style and feature upgrades that add a luxe feel to your bathroom.

The Ultra NOVA is THE thinnest luxury bidet on the market. It’s just 3.66 inches thick in the back and 1.25 inches at the front. With minimal seaming and a non-telescoping lid that looks almost exactly like a normal toilet seat lid, the Ultra NOVA blends into any bathroom. The only clue that it’s not your average toilet seat is a sleek dial on the side. Twisting the dial forward starts a front wash, twisting it backward starts a rear wash, and pressing the center for two seconds starts an enema wash. It’s great for quick bidet cleansing, though most people operate the bidet with the streamlined remote.

Profile view of the Ultra NOVA bidet seat
The Ultra NOVA’s slim profile won’t detract from your bathroom’s aesthetic.

The remote’s simple, labeled buttons remove any guesswork. It comes with a handy guide that sits in the wall mount and clearly displays the functions of the top buttons. The Ultra NOVA’s remote is crafted from hygienic stainless steel for a premium look and feel, and the narrow bar design makes it easy to hold. It also operates on a radio frequency signal, so it’ll work flawlessly in any bathroom (or even from a nearby room). And unlike the Eco NOVA, the Ultra NOVA stores two user presets so you get your perfect wash every time.

The Ultra NOVA remote control with its labeled guide
Multi-function buttons allow for a low-profile, bar-style remote that feels good in your hand. The optional guide identifies the top button functions when the remote is mounted to the wall.

The Ultra NOVA’s wash quality does not disappoint, and its enema wash is a particular standout. We were impressed with the front and rear washes, which start with a refreshing oscillating motion. The default water pressure is a balanced medium, with options to make it softer or firmer. The enema wash uses a thin, precise stream of water that’s strong but not uncomfortable – a difficult balance to strike. We found it more comfortable than other enema washes while remaining just as effective. And if you have soreness or irritation, the Ultra NOVA’s hot/cold pulse feature soothes by rhythmically varying the water temperature.

It also has some extras that elevate your daily routine. The lid automatically opens when you approach the toilet and closes after you walk away. It’s also a sittable lid that supports up to 400 pounds. (You’ll just need to turn off the auto-open feature first.) Best of all, the seat is more comfortable than any other bidet we’ve tested. Our staff range in size and build, and all of them found it to be broad, spacious and supportive. For safety, the Ultra NOVA’s interior parts are coated with a silver nano solution that stops microbes in their tracks. Plus, like the Eco NOVA, it has certified backflow protection.

Animated GIF of the Ultra NOVA's auto-open feature
The Ultra NOVA’s lid automatically opens and closes so you never have to touch the toilet. This feature will need to be turned off if you want to use the sittable lid.

The Ultra NOVA’s premium perks and wash performance impressed us, but there are a few things it could do better. Compared to its closest competitor, the TOTO S7A, the Ultra NOVA offers different wash features and less adjustability. The Ultra NOVA doesn’t have soft or wide settings and only has three levels for seat temperature, water pressure, nozzle position, water temperature and air dryer temperature (compared to the S7A’s five levels). We also wish the remote had a button to lift the seat. Additionally, earlier production runs had some reliability issues. The manufacturer has updated the current models to fix the problems, but customer feedback on the previous version knocked the Ultra NOVA out of the #2 spot it held in 2025.

Best Soft Wash: Brondell Swash 1400

Brondell Swash 1400 Bidet Seat
Brondell Swash 1400 Bidet Seat
4.8 / 5.0 | (84 reviews)
$669.99 – $798.00
$669.99

The Brondell Swash 1400 offers the perfect cleaning solution for sensitive bottoms. We’ve tested dozens of bidets, and none can match its gentleness. The Swash 1400 also offers lots of customization and easy operation to round out our Top 5.

The Swash 1400 is an absolute gem for IBS and other painful symptoms. Its soft wash thoroughly but gently cleanses to soothe hemorrhoids, fissures or sensitivity. And since it’s one of the few bidet seats to offer adjustable spray widths, it washes a wide area – a great solution for messy bowel movements. Our testers liked being able to tailor the spray’s coverage since it cut down on the amount they had to shift around to get clean. The Swash 1400 also boasts seven nozzle positions – more than any seat on our list – to get the wash exactly where you need it. And with a silver nano sanitizing system on board, the water will always be microbe-free.

Animated GIF of the Swash 1400 bidet seat's gentle wash
The Swash 1400 has an outstanding gentle wash perfect for sensitivity or pain with a range that tops out around medium pressure at the highest setting.

Its controls are incredibly intuitive. The Swash 1400’s remote puts all the buttons on the front, so every function is accessible without taking it off the wall. The buttons are clearly labeled, and with the exception of a toggle that controls both water pressure and dry temperature, each one has a single purpose. It also has two user presets to store your unique preferences. Keep in mind, though, that it uses an infrared signal, so you won’t be able to control the bidet seat from another room.

The Swash 1400 has style options for any space. It comes in both white and biscuit to accent white and beige toilets. It’s also available in round and elongated seat sizes. No matter your toilet or decor, the Swash 1400 has a combination that will blend right in.

Swash 1400 Wireless Remote Control
The Swash 1400’s remote is well laid out and easy to understand with all the buttons front and center.

The lid is sittable, but use it at your own risk. The Swash 1400’s sittable lid has a weight limit of 270 pounds. However, its ABS plastic construction is less durable than most others on our list. We’ve had multiple reports of lids cracking, even with users under the weight limit. Unfortunately, lids are excluded from Brondell’s warranty coverage, so if it does break, repair costs will be out of pocket.

If you like a higher pressure or maximum comfort, the Swash 1400 might not be right for you. While you can adjust the water pressure up or down, the wash feels very light, even on the highest pressure setting. If you don’t struggle with sensitivity issues, there’s a good chance you’ll prefer a seat with a firmer wash. Our testers also noticed that the Swash 1400’s seat felt smaller and more cramped than other bidet seats.

Tips for First-Time Bidet Buyers

See a bidet seat on our list you like, but aren’t quite sure it’s right for you? Here are some questions to ask when buying your first bidet.

Is an electric bidet seat right for me?

All the bidet seats we’ve talked about here are electric models. They’re the most popular option – and the one we recommend – because their advanced features provide a comfortable, customizable cleanse. That said, electric bidet seats come with a higher price tag than non-electrics. You also need a GFCI outlet within four feet of your toilet to use an electric bidet seat.

Which bidet seats will work with my toilet?

Toilet bowls can be round or elongated, and the bidet seat needs to match your toilet bowl’s shape in order to fit. (Not sure which shape you have? Our 3-Step Bidet Seat Fit Guide covers all the details.) Mixing and matching shapes can cause problems, so if your toilet is round, plan to purchase a round bidet seat. If your toilet is elongated, opt for an elongated bidet seat.

If your toilet is differently shaped or more compact than the average toilet (for example, a French curve or RV toilet), you might also run into fit issues. If you have a unique toilet, we can work with you to find a bidet that fits.

Can I install it myself?

Most electric bidet seats can be installed by even less-experienced DIYers in 30 minutes or less. Just about everything you need to get your seat up and running comes in the box – the only other things you’ll need are a rag and screwdriver. Check out our guide to learn how to install a bidet in four easy steps.

What’s my budget?

Bidet prices can vary dramatically, so setting a budget can help guide your choice. Electric bidet seats typically range from $250 to $1,500 depending on features, design and quality. We’ve found that “budget bidets” tend to skimp on functionality and use less-durable materials. This means you’ll save money up front, but you’ll probably have to spend more to replace your bidet sooner.

If you’re looking for a quality bidet that won’t break the bank, contact us for a recommendation. You may even be able to get a high-end bidet at a lower price with our open-box units.

Are the brand and warranty solid?

Not all manufacturers offer the same level of product quality and customer service, so research brand reputation before you buy. To avoid surprises, make sure you understand the warranty ahead of time, including how long it lasts, whether it’s full or limited and what it does and does not cover.

Know that if you do encounter an issue with your purchase, we will support you to the very best of our ability. However, if a manufacturer is uncooperative or refuses to honor a warranty claim, we may be limited in our ability to help. Brands that have a good track record of customer service and satisfaction include NOVA, TOTO, Infinity, Blooming and Brondell.
